After a few minutes I finally get enough courage to go downstairs. Once I'm there I see Elijah sitting at the dining table with several other wolves. He probably called the wolves back he sent away earlier.

The people at the dinning table don't seem to notice me, and if they do, they are ignoring me. The chef also enters the room and bows his head a little towards me, as a form of greeting. Then he places the plates with food on the table. I see pancakes, baked eggs, bacon, bread, and a lot more food. For one more moment I admire the amount of food that was placed down on the table before I sit down on the chair thats next to the one Elijah is sitting on. He turns his head towards me. "Amy, I'd like to introduce you to my gamma, John and my beta, Adam. And of course their mates, Sanne, John's mate and Arianne, Adam's mate." I look at them, one by one. John has brown hair which looks like he just got out of bed, but it makes his light blue eyes sparkle more. Adam has black hair, and brown eyes. His hair is pulled back with some gel, which makes him look like a rich businessman. His mate, Arriane, has curly, brown hair and dark brown eyes. She looks like an energetic girl, the one everyone likes. Sanne is the opposite. She had straight, blond hair, and light blue eyes, with which she seems to judge me with every move I make. A shiver goes down my spine and I look at the food in front of me. She might be nice, but right now, she looks really scary.

After dinner Elijah proposes to go shopping with the girls because I have no clothes, only a set of much too wide clothes. I just to wear them when I was still at my old pack. I agree with him and let him send me, Sanne and Arriane to the mall. I suppose I need some new clothes. The girls and I meet at the front of the pack house. With some borrowed clothes from Elijah I meet them. There's a white car waiting for us outside and we get in. Sanne sits behind the steering wheel; she already has her driving license, unlike Arriane and me. The engine starts and nobody says a word. ''So...'' I say, trying to start a conversation. ''What do you guys like to do in your free time?'' Arriane, who sits next to me on the back seats, turns towards me. ''I like to play games,'' She says. '' But for now, there are more important things to be asked.'' I look at her with a confused look. ''What?'' I ask. Sanne looks over her shoulder, and then quickly back towards the road. "Do you like Elijah?'' She then asks. ''Have you seen the pack?'' Arriane interrupts. ''What is your favorite color? What are your hobbies? And ..." Arianne was cut off by Sanne. She looks over her shoulder again, and she smiles slightly at me. That makes her look less terrifying then before, and I relax a bit. "One question at a time, please, Arianne," she kindly asks Arianne. ''The poor girl must be overwhelmed with all the questions we are asking her.'' While looking at the road, she speaks to me. "Don't worry, if she's bothering you too much, just tell me and I'll help you. Or if I'm bothering you, just tell me.'' Arriane playfully hits her shoulder. "Hey! Not fair!" She protests, and Sanne and I laugh. Maybe it's not as bad here as I thought; the people I've met so far are very kind to me. That doesn't take away that I had to leave my friends, though. Arriane sees me staring into the distance and puts her hand on my knee. ''I know you probably miss your old friends, and I, or Sanne, won't tell you to forget them. Just know that Elijah has placed some of his people near the area where he found you. He figured your friends must still be there, and that you might worry about them.'' I smile at her. ''Thank you for telling me, that really helped,'' I say.

With only ten minutes left to drive, Sanne turns on the radio. "HELLO FROM THE OTHER SIDEEEEEEEE!! I MUST HAVE CALLED A THOUSAND TIIIIIIIMEEEEES!'' We sing along with the song that is playing. The people in the cars that pass us look at us weird, which makes us laugh. I catch Sanne staring at me, and I smile at her. She smiles back at me, and I feel the fear I felt before when I looked at her disappear. Yes, we could definitely become friends.
