"Do you guys smell that?" I asked sniffing the air.

"Smell what?" Sapphire asked standing up.

"It smells like pine trees. And vanilla." I said looking around for the source.

"That's a weird combination." Jamie said looking at me like I was crazy. "I don't smell anything."

I continued looking around before I saw the front doors open.

"Mate." I said looking straight ahead.

I gasped as I saw Kaydon looking me in the eye.

"Oh fuck no." I said with my eyes open wide.

"No no no." I said to myself as I was shaking my head back and forth.

"Alex?" Jamie asked waving a hand in front of my face. "Are you okay?"

I couldn't say anything.

"Alex? Say something." Sapphire begged.

"He-he's my mate." I said staring straight at Kaydon.

Kaydon seemed unaffected and looked at me with a small smile.

"Who?" Jamie asked.

"Kaydon." I said pointing at him.

They saw Kaydon, James, and Bo.

Thy started walking towards us and that's when I grabbed the girls and ran.

"Alex!" Jamie yelled in surprise.

"Where are we going?" Sapphire asked.

I ignored them and ran to the girls locker room

Once we got there, I pushed them inside and locked the door right as the bell for homer room rang.

Oh well. Looks like we are missing home room.

"What was that for?" Sapphire asked rubbing her wrist.

"Have you gone crazy?" Jamie asked while she rubbed her arm.

"There is no way he can be my mate!" I yelled pacing back and forth.

"Well it kinda makes sense now." Jamie said.

"What do you mean?" I asked looking at her.

"Are you stupid?" She laughed. "Remember at the carnival when he won you that bear and he pulled you to the Ferris wheel?"

"And when he took the panda that Nate won you out of your locker. And also he always gets upset when he sees you and Nate together." Sapphire added.

"Oh!" Jamie said. "And that would also explain why he didn't kill us or chase after us when we went on his territory."

I groaned and slumped against the wall. "But he's been a dick lately."
