After years of lies
She can't take it any longer
Now is HER time
Beginning a life anew
Discarding a past- bruises blue
No more carrying this tote
Put it down, be determinative
No more hands around her throat
Waiting for something to give
She must realize her worth
And for her she must live
Or her soul will not prolong on this earth

He won't let her go easy
Exhausted and abused
she's no longer amused
Wrapping silk, stopping breathing
He begins seizing
She sighs with relief before the lights
Waiting for them to take her

Spirit dying as his eyes become lifeless
Walking tirelessly to the ending
Of life itself
The time drawing near
A tear escaping the brink
Rolling aside his ear
Waiting for her to release
A man filled with anger
Same disease the cause of death
Waiting
The cold pull his only comfort
As the blood drains from his face

The scream of new life
Sparkling pupils in the hospital light
A glimmer of hope in the eyes of the Mother
Kissing her bitter sweet creation
As life trucks forward
Toward a future so uncertain
Scarred but filled with love
Waiting - willing time to go slow
Her sentence, still facing
The state will take her baby
She must find a new way

Waiting waiting
Always waiting
One thing or another
No escaping
