Land abiding bystander
Gaze directed toward the sea
Knowledge of an islander
Enjoying oceans breeze
Much easier afar
Watching white caps toppling
As waves crash to the shore
Waterline unseen- the ending
Inching further to see more
Twisting n' twirling
In current rolling
Trapped, held in captivity
Calm turned turbulent
Anxious feelings reeling
Escape becoming urgent
As water-filled lungs begin to seize
