GWEN

Gwen could not see a thing but snow and forest, as she gripped her wand settled in the holster on her leg. She knew the vampires and wolves could probably smell the Newborns approaching, even before they came into view for her.

When Jasper had hissed at them all that they were merely moments away, she noticed everyone glancing at their loved ones nervously, despite being initially confident at the battle coming for them.

Jasper to Alice. Carlisle to Esme. Emmett to Rosalie. Cal and Leah...She couldn't help but glance over to Edward, who was staring right back at her with a tender look.

Their eyes locked once more, the gold into the brown; both understanding that after this, they would never see each other again. And even though she knew it something that they both needed to do, it didn't hurt any less. Despite how she may or may not feel about him, they had struck up a bond. One that she wasn't accustomed with having with people she didn't meet in school. And it hurt to severe that new bond.

Forcing herself to turn away from him, she turned her eyes back to the clearing. Though everyone said this battle would be easy. Would it be?

She glanced around at every person, confident in their ways of fighting and their ability to finish this battle in under an hour. She had never seen Newborns. But, she had witnessed them all fighting in action. They were all so fast that she could hardly make out any of their movements. And yet, she couldn't help but worry for them.

Gwen had never sat out of a battle like this. Even in the Battle of Hogwarts, she had done her part.

And yet, she knew she couldn't do anything. The Accords were written plainly. This was not something she and Cal could be involved in.

Jacob and Bella returned from their talk, as a giant werewolf guided them back to the clearing. As soon as they reached Gwen, Edward, and Cal, the muggle girl immediately dropped Jacob's hand and went to Edward's side. With one hesitant glance to Bella, Jacob ran towards his Pack and phased into a wolf to join them.

"I can smell them" Edward said quietly.

"What?" Bella asked.

"The Newborns. The scent of blood is all over them. Even your scent..."

The Pack and Cullens moved to the sides of the clearing, hiding their numbers from site as the next few seconds happened too quickly for Gwen to fully grasp what was happening.

Gwen saw the herd of vampire Newborns heading down the mountain quickly. Their speed was incredible. Their red eyes stuck out more in the white snow, as they glistened with every stride.

And their eyes, all of the red eyes, were all locked onto Bella Swan.

"Here they come," Cal muttered nervously. "When do you think we should--?"

"On my signal" Gwen said, as she took her wand from her holster on her leg.

The first Newborns that came into the clearing were met with Emmett, Jasper, and two giants wolves; a russet colored wolf and a giant black wolf--both the same size. Gwen believed them to be Sam and Jacob.

Their strongest at the forefront.

She and Jasper wanted to make it seem as though their only defenses were these four, before the rest came into sight once they got closer to Bella. They believed it would harm their strategy for all of them to out in the clearing. The Newborns could see their numbers and run off in different directions, instead of focusing on just Bella.

So, everyone else in the Pack and the Cullen family, would hide in the woods until the Newborns made their way to Bella. Then Gwen and Cal would enact their enchantments, making it impossible for the Newborns to get to the muggle girl.
