The Promise

Live Together ?

The next day , Alex came to get his things from my house . My parents went to work and that was the time he came .
I was watching tv when the doorbell rang and I got up to answer it .
I opened the door and it was Alex. 
"Can I come in ?" . He asked .
"Yeah ". I said moving to the side to let him in. 

"I came here to get my things ".
"Sure ".
I went back into the living room and he went into his room .
He was going back and fort with his things. 
He was finally done when he came into the living room and got his PlayStation .

I said "Alex ,wait ".
He looked at me and he wasn't looking  happy. 
"What?".
"Why can't you just tell me how you really feel when your  sober   ? ".
"Beth " . He said in a frustrated way. 
"Why can't  you " .
"Beth , leave it alone ".

"No, Alex tell me ".
"No Beth ". He said as he was about to leave the living room when i grabbed his arm. 
"Beth ". He said and stopped and went to put his PlayStation in his car when he almost bumped into our parents.

"Hi sweetie ".
"Hi ".
"Hi ".
They told us to go back inside and sit in the living room . We went back inside and we were really worried why our parents were back from work early .
Once they came back inside , I felt like something big is going happen .

"Kids , I have something to tell you and may or may not like it ". My dad said getting me really nervous.
"What is it ?". Alex said .
"Alex and Beth , this is for your own benefit ". Alex 's mom said  
"What is ?". I said .
"Well , you guys are going to stay here together " .

"What ! ". Me and Alex said at the same time. 
"Why ?  ". Me and him said and we looked at each other very angrily.
"Stop it ". Alex said before I got the chance to  .
He looked really mad . Was he really that angry that we have to live together for some time.

"Just for awhile right ?". Alex said getting up. 
"No , for as long as we tell you to " . My dad said .
"We think this will be good for you two  "  .
"No it won't " . He said . I just sat there listening to what Alex said .
"Please don't make me live with her ".
"Alex ". His mother said sounding really surprised by what he said .

Before his mother can say anything else , he said " I can live on my own ".
"Absolutely not " .
"Please ".
"No Alex . Not until you graduate  from high school ".
"Ugh " . He said and stormed out of my house. 

I didn't stick around after that and left and went to my room .
I slammed the door and sat in my bed and thought of why Alex didn't like the idea of us living together .
I said I didn't hate him. I just don't trust him .

I didn't come out of my room to get dinner or a  snack until the next day .
The next day , my parents were pounding on my door for me   to come  see them off.
They are living on the other side of town far way from us. 

I was really sad when I  heard that though  my door .
I just stayed in their untill they were gone and I  stayed up in my room for a few extra hours until I  came downstairs to get something to eat  . 
Once i reached the last step of the staircase , Alex was right in front of me .

"Hey " . He managed to stay .
I didn't want to fight with him so I  said "Hi ".
I went to the kitchen and he followed .
Once I  reached their , there was so many boxes everywhere . 
I didn't know he had so much stuff . 
"Can you make me breakfast ?". Alex asked.
I wanted to ask him why he thinks leaving with me is a horrible idea but I didn't .

"Sure ".
I made breakfast for the both us and we ate it .
Then he got to work . He started to make the boxes clear out of the kitchen. 
I just sat there watching him .
It was hours later when all the boxes in the kitchen  were gone .
He looked at me and said "So , you sat there for hours just watching me " .

"Yeah ". 
"And you didn't think of helping me once " . He said
"Nope ". I  said .
He sat down next to me and said "I will move the  other boxes tomorrow ".
"Okay "  .
"What do you want to eat ?". I asked .
"Anything " .

"Okay ".
He went to take a shower and he came back out with only pants on .
"I couldn't find a shirt . I only had a pants " .
"Okay "  .
