The Promise

Who ?

When lunch time ended , I went to my next class and when it was done , I went to Alex 's class to get him .
When I reached there , I saw him talking to his friends .
He saw me and said "Hey ".
"Hey . You have a free period too ?  ". I asked .
"Yeah ".

"I was thinking we can do some of the project now ".
"Okay . Lets go ".
Then we went to the library . No one was in there . It was only the librarian and us .
We sat down and then started to work .
We were half way through the work when the bell rang signaling that it was the end of the school day. 

I stopped working and said "Oh yeah , where are my  keys ? ".
"Ohhh about that ... ". He said  trailing of his sentence and putting his pen down.
"Your keys and getting changed but you would get it back tomorrow ".
"Well , your sleeping on the couch today ".

"Please ". He said and took my hand. 
I watched our hands and he removed his hand from mine. 
"Please ". He said again .
"I will think about it ". I said and started back working on the project .
When we finished , it was around 3pm and we had to be out of school by 4pm .

We put back the things  that we used for the project that belonged to the library .
Once we got home , our parents were in the house .
"Where have you two been ?". My mom asked .
"We were at the library working on our Science project  ". I said .
"Okay ".
"Did you guys need anything ?". I asked .

"No , we just came to drop off some things for the people to do over Alex 's room ". My mom said .
"Okay ". Alex said
"The people who are  doing Alex 's room over are going to be doing it when you two are at school ".
"Okay ". We both said .
"Well go wash up and we will make dinner ". Alex 's mom suggested .

We both went up to my room and took a bath .
While the adults were cooking dinner , I was doing my homework.
Alex came out the bathroom and came to where I was with his body dripping water and he asked  "Your doing your homework now ?" .
"Yeah ". I said as I turned around .

I pushed him away and said "Go put on some clothes ".
"The old you wouldn't have mind ".He said as he went to the secret place to his clothes . 
He came back and said "That 's not due until next week " .
" I know , I just want to do it now so that I won't forget it " .

"Okay" . He said as he went away from my chair .
"Kids , dinner is ready " . My mom shouted from the kitchen. 
We both went downstairs and ate dinner. 
Our parents made sure we were both in my room before they left .

Once they left , I said "Bye".
"Where are you going ?". He asked me  .
"Nowhere ". I said. 
"So , why  did you say bye ?". He asked. 
"Because your going to be sleeping on the couch ".
"Beth , please don't make me ". He said pleading with me .

"No ".
"Beth , you said you would think about it ".
"I did and your not sleeping here ".
"Please Beth ". He said as he came over to where I was .
"No Alex ". I said .
"Please ". He said taking my head into his hand .

"Alex ". I said as I turned my head so that Alex didn't have it in his hand .
"Please , Bethany ". He said .
I was shocked that he still remembers that name .
"You haven't called me that in  awhile ". I said because whenever he said that name , he likes to get his way .

"Fine ". I said and he said "Yes ".
"The old Beth is still there ". He  also said .
"Whatever ". I said .
We went to bed and I couldn't stop  but replaying the part where Alex said my name , his other nickname for me   .

***The Next Day ***

When I woke up , I did my morning stuff and went downstairs and made breakfast for the both of us .
He came into the kitchen texting on his phone .
"Morning ".
He looked up and said "Morning " and went back to texting on his phone. 
While we were eating breakfast , Alex kept on texting on his phone .

I was really curious as to who he was texting .
