Josh was waiting for Tyler at the lunch table the next day.
He glanced up and saw Tyler walking towards him. He couldn't help it when a small smile made its way on his face. Regardless of everything, it was still Tyler.
However, he saw Tyler purposely shove one of the basketball players out of his way in a rough manner and the latter stumbled, catching himself on the wall. "What the fuck is your problem, Joseph?" He snapped. His friends held him back because Josh could see he wanted to slam Tyler against a wall.
Tyler just flipped him off and continued walking over to a now frowning Josh. "Hey."
"Hey? Why are you trying to pick fights in the hallway?"
Tyler scowled. "I'm not. That dick was in my way so I made him move."
"You could say 'excuse me'."
"Yeah and you could shut the fuck up."
Josh sighed but didn't continue talking. He saw his phone light up and a text notification from Maddy was on his lock screen.
Tyler saw it too and a look of disgust made its way onto his face. "Why are you texting my sister, freak? You tryna hook up with her?"
Josh gave him an 'are you fucking kidding me' look. "No... I've had her number since she got a phone. She's texting me about homework. Plus I'm not a perv."
"Are you sure?"
Josh ignored him and unlocked his phone, holding it towards him so Tyler didn't see.

Josh got another text notification but this time it was from Lina.

Don't boost her ego or I'll have more expectations. I can't even boil water
Josh looked up and locked eyes with Lina a few tables away and they both grinned at each other.
Tyler cleared his throat and Josh looked over at him. "What are you staring at?"
"Nothing."
Tyler narrowed his eyes. "You're a shitty liar."
Josh couldn't stop the words that came out of his mouth. "You're being a shitty boyfriend right now."
It was silent for a second as Tyler got an offended look on his face and Josh's eyes widened.
"Ty I didn't mean—"
"No. You're the shitty boyfriend for not trying to understand what I'm going through," he stood up and grabbed his bag.
"Tyler..."
