Leah POV

"Do you have any threes?" Theo asked me.

I sighed and looked at him sadly. "Go fish." He groaned and a smile crept onto my face. He drew a card from the deck placed in the middle of the table and added it to his large collection of cards. Theo, Mary, Clarke, Amelia, and I surrounded the small, round table on the porch, playing all these different card games. Go fish. Old maids. Spoons. Snap- but we stopped playing that one when we accidentally woke Theo up. He joined us in the end, though.

The only light was the porch light, and the rest of our surroundings were dark, but that just made it all the more enjoyable.

So far, Clarke was winning with 4 decks, Mary in second with 3, then me with 2, and Amelia in fourth. And Theo...He had a lot of cards, but no decks. So, basically, he was losing. Badly.

"Do you have any...I don't know, fours?" I asked Theo. He gave me a glare in return as he threw two fours onto the table. I happily took the two cards and created another deck. I had a large smile on my face when I realised I just had to get one more five. It was my turn again, and there was only one other person with any cards. Clarke.

I propped my elbows on the table and leaned in slightly in Clarke's direction. Clarke eyed me and leaned back slightly in her chair.

"Clarke," I said. She raised an eyebrow. "Got any fives?" She looked at her cards and glared at me, but I didn't back down. We stared at each other for a few more moments until she finally gave up. She sighed in defeat and set one card on the table in front of me.

"Why, thank you!" I gave her a toothy smile and took the card, adding to the stack. My stack of cards was now tied with Clarke's.

"So I guess we both won," I said to Clarke, who was glaring at me again. Mary looked between Clarke and me, same as Theo and Amelia.

"So," I clapped my hands, "should we play another game?" Mary looked at her watch.

"Probably not, it's already 2:15 am. We should probably get some sleep before work. And I'm sure that you two have the stuff to do tomorrow." She gestured to Theo and Clarke. They looked at one another and shrugged.

"We have to help the rest of the team pack up." Theo looked at us. "They're leaving tomorrow."

"But they have only stayed for a week. Didn't Vlado say they were staying for longer?" I stated, confused at both the fact that they were leaving later today, and the fact that I haven't even seen one of them.

"Change of plans." Theo shrugged. I wasn't exactly satisfied with that answer, but oh well.

"Well then, I guess we should pack up then," Amelia said as she stood. We all stood after her and started collecting the cards. After a couple of minutes, Mary let out a big yawn. We all looked at her, and she started to blush from the attention. We all chuckled, probably from the fact it was 2 am and humour gets pretty dry at that time.

"If you want, I can walk with you to your room so you can sleep." Clarke offered. Mary looked at all of us for the ok, and we all nodded. She gave us a tired smile and stood next to Clarke. She let out another yawn, and placed her head on Clarke's shoulder, closing her eyes. Clarke chuckled and led Mary back inside.

The three of us continued collecting the cards. We finished in a few minutes time, and Amelia placed all the cards in the small box.

"I can put it away, and you guys can clear the table, yeah?" Amelia offered, and Theo and I responded with 'sure.' She walked back inside, leaving Theo and I to clean up the glasses and empty bowls of food. The two of us stacked the five bowls and glasses. Theo grabbed the glasses whilst I grabbed the bowls. I walked behind Theo as he somehow opened the door to the house. He kept the door open for me to walk inside,

"Thanks," I said as I walked past him. His jet black hair bounced when he nodded, his purple streak standing out in the dark. I walked through the halls from memory, Theo trailing behind me. I made my way to the kitchen and set the dishes down on the kitchen island. I went back to the door and turned on the ceiling lights. The sudden light made me squint, and I heard Theo groan.

"Sorry 'bout that." I managed to open my eyes, and I walked over to the kitchen island and grabbed all the dishes.

"It's alright." He replied. I carried the dishes over to the sink and began filling them up with warm water. I added a squirt of dishwashing liquid and waited for the sink to fill up.

"Why don't you just put them in the dishwasher?" I heard Theo ask.

"If I turn on the dishwasher, it'll wake everyone up," I explained. I turn off the tap and grabbed the first bowl. I started to scrub it clean, then I rinsed it off, and placed it on the side.

"Do you want any help?" I shook my head.

"It's fine." I continued scrubbing the dishes, and I didn't even notice that Theo was now standing next to me. He grabbed a hand towel and began drying the clean stack of dishes. I turned over to him and gave him a grateful smile. He smiled back, before focusing on the dishes. We continued that for a few more minutes until I was finally in the last bowl. It was full of excess guacamole, but that didn't faze me as I sunk it in the water.

"Eww!" It fazed Theo though. "That is gross!" I looked at his disgusted face and let out a quiet laugh.

"You get used to it," I stated as I scrubbed the dish. He eyed the water warily, looking at the bits of food floating to the top.

"Why would you ever want to work as a maid, though?" I looked up from the water for a moment, still scrubbing the dish.

"I've never really thought about it," I admitted. "I mean, the pay is definitely worth it." I joked. Theo chuckled.

"But yeah," I continued, "I guess it's just something I grew up being good at, you know?" Theo looked at me, confused. I chuckled lightly.

"What I mean is, I always used to help my boyfriend cook and clean around the house," I said the words before I even knew what I was actually saying.

"Oh, you have a boyfriend?" I paused. Why didn't I just keep my mouth shut?

"Had." I rinsed the bowl. "I broke up with him." I handed him the bowl and he took it.

"Why'd you break up?"

I stayed silent for a moment. "We just didn't click." I lied. I didn't like that I was lying to Theo, but what else would I say? 'Oh, yeah he used to hit me, so I ran away from him. No biggie.'

"I'm sorry about that." He said as he dried the bowl. I laughed.

"Trust me, it was for the best." Mattheo smiled at me and stacked the bowl with the rest of the clean dishes. It was just then that I realised that I didn't really know Theo that well, but after tonight, I got to know him a lot better. And I was happy to have made another friend here.

"Anyway," I washed my hands, "I better get some sleep, and you should too." Theo chuckled quietly.

"Yeah. See you tomorrow. Night."

"Night." Mattheo walked out of the kitchen. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. That went well. I felt myself smile as I opened my eyes, and that smile stayed on my face as I packed away the dishes before going to bed.
