"You don't like promises? What do you mean? Stop shaking your head or you're gonna get dizzy Maxy!" Estrella grabs him by the shoulders, forcing him to stop. Her son is usually well behaved, she's never seen him throw such a sudden tantrum, something must be wrong. "Maxy, what's going on?"
"Mom..." He looks up at her with a glossy coat over his eyes, signaling the brink of tears. "Is tomorrow Friday?"
"Yes, why Maxy? What's wrong?"
"Tomorrow I'm going to have to see dad." He sniffles. "I don't wanna see him."
"Is that what this is about? Oh Maxy, you know you have to. Mommy will get in trouble if she keeps you from him." She holds her son's hand reassuringly. "Besides, it's only for the weekend. We'll see each other again on Monday."
"I don't think we can see each other again. Dad has no job." Max looks down, a flurry of fear brews at the very pit of his stomach. "He makes me help him make money. He made me promise."
