Chapter Four:

“Alexandra,” I heard a faint voice said. I opened my mouth and moved it a bit, making sure I wasn't dead then opened my eyes. Olivia was standing over my bed. When did I get to the dorm?

She put her hand on her heart and sighed in relief, “Thank you Jesus. Don't scare me like that. My heart rate spiked! What happened?”

“I don't know. I think the heat is getting to me. I swear I saw--” I was rudely interrupted by the door opening.

He was there again with a glass of water in his hand. “Hey, she's awake. Here's your water, some introduction huh?” he smiled, obviously not knowing it was me. I thought I'd dreamt him but here he was, standing in the flesh. Keith was haunting my life again.

“I don't want it,” I mumbled.

“Are you sure? I read online that when you faint you lose a lot of water.” Keith insisted.

“I said, I don't want it! I can take care of myself and I don't want help from you!” I yelled at him.

“Whoa, Alex! Chill, he just wants to help.” Olivia stepped in, trying to shorten the tension.

“Yeah, what's your beef?” he asked.

“You really don't recognize me? Remember this? 'It's simple. I went out with you to pass a class. I passed, you're dumped.'” I recited from heart.

His face scrunched up in confusion, “No?”

“It's Alexandra you ass! Alexandra Bolton! The nerd you went out with for an easy A!” I reminded him, heated that he didn't even have the heart to remember our breakup. This was the boy I once loved? His eyes went wide.

“What are you doing here? Why do you look like that? How did you get here?!” he blabbered.

“None of those are your business.” I snapped.

Olivia looked like she absolutely confused. “Okay, I'm lost what's going on?” she asked.

“It's nothing,” Keith said quickly.

“It certainly is not nothing. I'll tell you everything. Last year this guy right here asked me to tutor him in geometry. I did, not knowing what I was getting myself into. He eventually asked me out. And I--” I started.

“She doesn't need to know the story!” Keith interrupted.
