Chapter 35: Enemies on The Rise

Nemetacum, Thenardier House

In the aforementioned Kingdom of Brune, a soldier can be seen entering a large castle. This was the territory known as Nemetacum belonging to The House of Thenardier.

Inside the castle, an adult male in his 40's with his sideburns as well as his muscular built figure. He is also has a spiky hair and a pair of fierce eyes that would intimidate any rivals that looked at him. This was the Duke of Nemetacum and the father of the deceased Zion Thenardier. Felix Aaron Thenardier.

Soldier: Lord Thenardier! We've just received word from the remaining soldiers. Your son, Zion Thenardier was killed in the battle of The Molsheim Plains.

Felix: I see, who was the one who killed my son.

Soldier: If I've read the reports carefully, it said he was killed by two assailants. One being Eleonora Viltaria, The War Maiden of the Wind and another assailant but unfortunately, their name was not found or mentioned in the reports.

Soldiers: Also, The Seven Chain Assassins have been annihilated. Their leader, Succulent has been arrested by Zhcted authorities and is currently awaiting trail. All remaining assassins have gone into hiding or have already been executed.

Felix: I understand.

???: It appears that The Kingdom of Brune isn't as strong as you say it is.

The person who spoke had the appearance of a handsome man dressed in black armor with a cape. He had long brown hair that goes to his hips with many bangs covering his right eye.

Felix: Shalba Beelezebub, what are you doing here?

Shalba: I've lost contact with Kokabiel and Valper Galelei. I can only assume they have been defeated and killed. Not that it matters. I am now gathering what's left of my associates for our plan to resume its course.

Felix: I have lost my son, Zion and my connections with The Seven Chain Assassins.

Shalba: Nevertheless, my plan will come to fruition. I do not care who dies along the way. Don't you want to continue our agreement?

Shalba: Once I become ruler of the Underworld. I'll allow you a place at my table and control over The Kingdom of Brune.

Felix: Yes, I am aware of our alliance.

Shalba: Good. As much as it pains me, I'll see to it that your compensated for your losses. I'll contact Zero.

Re-Estize Kingdom

In the Underground of The Re-Estize Kingdom, a giant, bald man can be seen training. His appearance was with half of his face and body covered with tattoos of various beasts. There is a panther on his legs, a falcon on his back, a rhino on his arms, a buffalo on his chest, and a lion on his head. Everything about him is large. The outlines of his muscular figure can be seen through his clothes. The cold glint in his eyes belongs to that of a seasoned warrior.

Shalba: Zero, answer my call.

Zero: Yeah, what is it?

Shalba: I'll ignore your rudeness and get to it. See to it that your subordinate, Succulent is released from Zhcted custody.

Zero: And why would I help a weakling like him.

Shalba: Because I ordered you too, so do it! Or do you not want to continue your Six Arms job?

Zero: Fine, but I expect payment when this is over.

Shalba ends the call.

Shalba: There, it is done. Once Succulent is freed, have him come here and work under you. You'll have the support of Eight Fingers.

Felix: Very well, what do you need me to do.
