Over the next few days, class returned to normal. Midnight returned to her Art History classes, and Burnin became the class's new favorite teacher. Although she was no Aizawa, she did her best to take on his responsibilities. They couldn't help but respect her enthusiasm, which came in handy right about now, when heroics started. Allmight stood proud next to her as he began the lesson. "ALRIGHT EVERYONE! WELCOME BACK TO HEROICS! TODAY WILL BE A COMBAT EXERCISE, IN ORDER TO KEEP OUR SKILLS SHARP!" Everyone was pumped up, with the encouragement brought on by Burnin. "This will be the first time I see you in action! So try your best! Show me what you can do!"

Bakugo grinned. He was confident. A bit too confident. Burnin saw that as fighting spirit, but Izuku knew he had a trick up his sleeve. He seemed to be ready for anything. And so, Allmight started explained in the way he knew how. With his booming charisma. "ALRIGHT, TODAY WILL BE A BRACKET STYLE, SIMILAR TO HOW THE SPORTS FESTIVAL WILL BE!"

"Ah, I remember that festival! It was a lot of fun!" Burnin smiled, "And now, it'll be your turn!"

Each fight was tailored to be challenging for both sides. Uraraka vs. Iida, Mina vs. Kaminari, etc. Fights that had risks to both sides, so they would have to be strategic and smart. Uraraka, for instance, would have to catch Iida for her quirk to be useful, while Iida would have to engage in CQC against someone with the upper hand. Mina and Kaminari would have to be very careful, as using electricity against her acid had proven to give... explosive results. Not only that, but it was very conductive at low voltages, so they both had to be careful. That was the theme of this exercise: How to minimize risk. Not only to themselves, but their terrain, as they were being graded on how damaged the arena was. Each contestant gave their best, and it was now the finalists: Izuku, and Bakugo.

The two glared at each other, but Izuku noticed that for once, the blond's body language was relaxed, instead of tensed for battle.

Toshinori called to the green haired boy, "ALRIGHT, ARE YOU READY FOR COMBAT, IZUKU MIDORIYA?"

"Yes."

He turned to the ashen blond. "AND YOU, KATSUKI BAKUGO?"
"Of fucking course!" He grinned in anticipation, small pops crackling from his palms.

After a moment, the heroics teacher then called out: "THEN BEGIN!"

Izuku held up the Auris, keeping it primed for whatever attack Bakugo had. He started with his usual charge, but he didn't put his full weight into it. He was doing chip damage to the shields Izuku put up, and he narrowed his eyes. "You're hiding something, Bakugo. That isn't like you."

Instead of screaming or even retorting, as was his usual tactic, he created a smokescreen with a condensed explosion. Izuku kept the barrier up. However, it was obscuring everything around him, and his concentration was faltering. Dropping the barrier, he attuned himself to the environment... when a deep headache struck at that moment.

Izuku recognized the effect immediately. What...

It was then that the smoke swirled around something. The greenette's eyes widened, because he never thought he'd see one.

A glyph. Unlike anything he'd ever seen. He'd seen orange, blue, green, violet, yellow, red, and white... but this one... was pink.
