Backstory: Jonathan Stephen was a young boy who spent time with his childhood friend named Rosemary Winters until she died because of some heroes' reckless actions. He became furious because the heroes didn't even bother to apologize for what they did, and a humagear named Azu visited him and explained everything about the true colors of the heroes who got involved in Rosemary's death. This made him accept her offer to become the next Kamen Rider Ark-One.
