Above is Nicola's dress. I couldn't find a dress I was 100% happy with, but this is as close to it as I could find. It has to look decent for a children's party, it has to look princessy, but not too much and it should go well with a side braid. Because it just feels like a side braid kind of occasion. You know, because of the tiara..

So if you don't like this one and you have a better option, please do send it to me, so I can replace this. Thank you ☺️

Nicola's POV

I was sitting in the kitchen. You could say I was hiding again. But I was hiding in plain sight so it's ok. The twins can see me because there was a clear view from the kitchen to the garden.

Anyways, I'd had quiet enough of the adults here, so i was taking a break.

Don't get me wrong, I mean for once Gabriel's parents had been actually decent to me, which I found weird, but it made being here more bearable.

Jessica was well, Jessica, and I can handle her, no problem. Ryan had no snide remarks as well, which felt like a miracle.

It was all these new faces. There were a lot of kids here, and with them, a lot of single mommies. They kept glaring at me while they kept throwing themselves at Gabriel.

Well, I didn't stop them from throwing themselves at him, so I have no idea why there was a need to be giving me the death glares. And one amongst all was the worst. Rebecca.

She looked like she was on the mission of winning the next title of being Mrs Hudson, and no one can come between her and win that title. This is disgusting because she was Sarah's best friend in high school.

Although, I am not really surprised. She was never really a nice person, and that's putting it mildly. If they had ever casted for Mean girls part 2 when she was in high school, she would have been an excellent candidate.

She had hated me with a vengeance. I never really got why people who were supposed to love me were best friends with people who hated me. But that's what happened, so..

I looked over as Emma sat next to me, making funny faces at the women who were competing to get Gabriel's attention. I couldn't help giggling at her expressions, which made her look over at me with her eyes wide.

"I'm sorry, was I very obvious?" She asked, grimacing.

I nodded, grinning, to which she replied. "Its just that these women make me feel ashamed to share the same gender as them! "

I burst out laughing, which made me start coughing as I had been drinking some orange juice. Emma patted me on the shoulder, her face still looking very serious.

"I really hope Mr Hudson doesn't end up marrying one of them." She muttered under her breath.

"And who are all these women? Do you know?" I asked, still grinning at Emma's sour expression.

"Everyone except Miss Rebecca are parents from Livy and Bella's play group." I gave a silent oh, in understanding.

Gabriel had put the girls in a play group to occupy them more and introduce them to kids their age and find friends. He hadn't wanted them staying at home all day and being stuck with adults all day long.

"So you know Rebecca?" I asked, taking a sip of my juice again.

"Yeah, she has a son a year older than the twins. She would come by often with the excuse of having the kids have a play date. But it's her that wants a play date!" I burst out in a fit of coughing again.
