Mr Darcy and Elizabeth had walked arm in arm for an hour before he escorted her back to Longbourn though he was loathed to part with her he promised to call on her later that day.As soon as Elizabeth walked in she saw everyone was breaking their fast and decided to sit with them but not eat before long her father had announced the heir to Longbourn upon her father's death would be visiting for a fortnight.
Mr Darcy returned to Netherfield in a very happy mood smiling showing his dimples when he went to the breakfast parlour everyone was breaking their fast.Everyone was shocked that Mr Fitzwilliam Darcy of Derbyshire was smiling to the point he was showing dimples Mr Bingley suspected it had something to do with Miss Elizabeth Bennett but waited to ask him in private.
"Darce what has gotten you so happy"He asked as soon as they were alone in the library.
"Elz-Miss Elizabeth has consented to courtship"Mr Darcy said with a smile
"To what extent"Mr Bingley asked
"Marriage"Mr Darcy said in amusement as Mr Bingley almost fell out of his chair
"We will be brothers hopefully"Bingley stated
"Brothers?"He asked confused
"I want to marry Miss Jane Bennett"he whispered.
The to gentlemen stayed in the library for an hour talking about the woman they loved.While in Longbourn Mrs Bennett spoke of the possibility of Elizabeth marrying Mr Collins so Elizabeth had no choice but to tell her mother that Mr Darcy had asked to court her."Mama I can't Mr Darcy has asked for courtship"Elizabeth said as the room went silent Jane who had been having a sip of water spit it out after she heard what her sister said."oh Mr Darcy that lucky man"Jane said
"Oh never mind him imagine the jewels,dresses and estate oh my,you clever girl"Mrs Bennett said coming out of the state of shock
"I have not consented for it to happen"Mr Bennett said
"Well you must oh do you know to the extent"Mrs Bennett said
"Not a clue"Elizabeth lied
Jane detected the lie but decided that would be a subject for when they went to bed and silently hoped that Mr Darcy would call today with Mr Bingley.
