Sidharth and Sana reached near the hut. Sidharth couldn't knock at the door as Sana was in his arms.
"Koi hai?" Sidharth asked loudly. "Darwaja kholiye please!"
After sometime an old woman opened the door.
"Kya chahiye?" She asked in a serious tone.
"Dadi Maa hum bohut badi problem mein hai. Hum idhar se guzar rahe the lekin humari bus kharab ho gayi. Aur meri biwi ke pair mein bhi chot aayi hai. Kya hum aaj raat ke yaaha liye ruk sakte hai?"
The woman didn't say anything and left from there keeping the door open.
"Unhone andar aane ke liye kaha kya?" Sana asked.
"Kaha toh nahi hai. But sayad woh hi mean kar rahi hai." Sidharth said and entered the hut.
He was looking for a place to keep Sana.
Suddenly the woman placed a tool in front of them.
Sidharth made Sana sit on the tool. Then he looked at her wound which was still bleeding.
"Thoda paani milega?" He asked.
The woman understood why he was asking for water. She came with a bowl of water and kept it on the floor.
"Itne mein hi kaam chala na padega." She said rudely.
Sidharth thanked the old woman. He was about to hold Sana's foot when she said, "Sidharth jaane do na. Main thik hoon."
"Ayee ladki! Tujhe paata nahi hai Pati ka naam apne muh se nahi lete?"
Sana became quiet hearing her tone.
"Chup baitho aur mujhe apna kaam karne do."
Saying that Sidharth washed her wounds very carefully and bandaged it with his handkerchief.
The old woman was watching Sana from top to bottom.
"Tum dono sach mein shaadi suda hi ho na? Agar bina shaadi ke sirf raat bitane aaye ho toh mere ghar mein jagah nahi milega." She said.
"Yeh kya kar rahi hai aap? Hum shaadi suda hi hai." Sana said trying to make her believe.
"Haan Dadi Maa. Yeh meri biwi hai aur main iska Pati." Sidharth said.
"Yeh aaj kaal ki ladkiya! Naa mangalsutra pehen ti hai, naa hi sindoor. Dekh kar kaun baatayega ki shaadi suda hai? Tauba tauba! Kya zamana aa gaya hai!" The old woman murmured which both Sidharth and Sana heard. But they chose to keep quiet.
Then she took the bowl of water and went inside the kitchen.
As soon as she left, Sana said, "Itna toh mujhe kabhi Mummy Ji ne nahi sunaya jitna yeh suna ke chali gayi."
"Jaane do. Woh thodi purane khayalat ki hai. Humein rehne ke liye jagah diyi yeh hi badi baat hai. Thoda seh lete hai." Sidharth said to which Sana nodded in yes.
After sometime the woman came back and asked, "Tum dono ko bhukh lagi hai?"
"Bohut." They both said together.
"Tum dono ruko. Main tum dono ke liye kuch le ke aati hai."
"It's ok Dadi Maa. Itni raat ko humare liye khana paka ne ki kya zaroorat hai?" Sana said doing formality.
"Kisne kaha main tum dono ke liye khana paka rahi hoon? Ek roti aur thodi sabji bach gayi thi. Woh hi garam kar ke deti hoon. Mujhe mein itna dam nahi hai ki iss umar mein tum dono ke liye phir se khana pakau."
The woman left saying that. Sidharth and Sana looked at each other and laughed silently.
After sometime, she handed a plate to Sidharth.
