"Hey, we're going to watch a movie before we go to bed. You guys want to join?" Emily asked, opening the screen door to our cabin and popping her head out. A movie actually sounded kind of good then, so the girls and I quickly agreed before filing into the cabin.

"Where's Dallas?" Cindy asked, looking around us. "Wasn't he with you?"

"And what about Jesse?" Molly then asked, looking around us as well. "He was with you, too!"

I didn't get how she could have such a huge crush on Jesse. For Dallas it was understandable, but Jesse? Yeah, maybe he was kind of cute, but the way he acted took that all away from him. I didn't find him attractive at all, and I didn't get how Molly did.

"Dallas left, and so did Jesse," Lexi explained with a shrug, collapsing onto the couch as Yolanda put the DVD in the DVD player. "And good riddance to Jesse."

"Hey!" Molly cried, sounding offended. "Don't talk about Jesse that way!"

"And why shouldn't I? He's been harassing us for years," Lexi sighed, stretching out on the couch now. She was right, and I was sure Molly knew that. Jesse had been harassing us for years, and it seemed like it would never end. But it had to sometime, right? I was going to Yale, and who knew where he was going. But if wasn't like he could follow me, since I was sure that his grades weren't that great.

"He hasn't played any pranks on me," Molly said dreamily, clasping her hands together under her chin. "He must really like me! He's just so dreamy!"

Gross.

I didn't have the heart to tell her that Jesse most likely liked Yolanda, the shy and quiet blonde girl that barely ever said anything to anyone who weren't her friends. Even though Yolanda was beautiful, Molly was as well. She was a lot more outgoing and loud, like Jesse was. She was a brunette and not blonde, like Yolanda and Cindy were. Maybe Jesse liked blondes? Or maybe he just liked shy girls?

"Not really," I said flatly, plopping myself down next to Lexi.

I just couldn't understand how anyone could think that Jesse was attractive. It wasn't like he was ugly or anything; he was just too annoying for his own good. I wondered if he even knew how annoying he was.

"I think Dallas is cuter than Jesse," Cindy voiced, waving a hand in front of her face. "Jesse can play some pretty mean pranks, especially on Jordan, it seems, but Dallas seems really sweet and polite. He wouldn't play any stupid pranks on us like Jesse! But why did you run away when you saw Dallas earlier, Jordan?"

I blinked, not expecting the question to come out of her mouth. Should I tell them the truth about Dallas and crush their dreams of having a polite and sweet prince? Dallas could definitely still be a prince or a knight in shining armor, but he sure wasn't like any of that the night he ditched me in a place that I didn't even know for another girl.

"I, uh, was just so nervous that I didn't know what to do..." I excused lamely, glancing that the TV screen, as if that would save me from having to explain. I really didn't want to talk about my past with Dallas, and not only because it seemed like there wasn't even one. Did he even think about how I felt when he ditched me? It didn't really seem like it.

"Well, I heard him mumble something about how pretty you've gotten," Emily cut in, leaning over the back of the couch so she was above me. "So you've must have known him, right?"

Damn. I was caught.

"We were childhood friends," I told them, leaving out everything that had happened to cause us not to be friends anymore. I didn't really feel like it was an important thing to sat. They didn't need to know what had happened between Dallas and me, at least not yet.
