He goes for his phone but it falls to the ground, he picks it up and hangs it up trying to go back to sleep, but then his room door is kicked open.
"WAKE UP SLEEPY HEAD!!!!" His Mom shouts banging on the wall.
Kamari groans as she continues and eventually invites his brother and sister in who bang on pots and pans, "For Christ's sake!!!" He shouts throwing off his cover, "I'm awake!!"
They stop and walk out, Kamari sighs and gets dressed, brushes his teeth and sits at the breakfast table.
"How'd you guys sleep?" His father asks
"Ok." Kamari says
"Good." His little sister says
"Great!" His little brother says
"Cool, who wants French toast!" His dad shouts
The kids all toss their plates toward the dad who tosses French toast onto them, he tosses syrup to Kamari who catches it as he drizzles it onto the French toast and passes it back.
The family eat and it's Kamari sits in the back with his brother and sister as his parents talk to him in the front of his class, "You got your schedule right?" His mom asks
"Yes." Kamari says
"And your lunch money." His mom asks
"Yes." Kamari says
"And your book bag?" She asks
"Yes." Kamari says
"And your-" She begins.
"Maria he's gonna forget everything if you keep pestering him." His dad says
FINALLY!
"I'm sorry I want to make sure he has a smooth first day James." Maria says
FINALLY AGAIN!
Oh yeah he's biracial...he's half black and half Mexican/hispanic.
"Can we please...please...PLEASE...just drive to the school?" Kamari asks
"Ok." Maria says.
"Where are you going big bro?" His brother asks
