Desire Wisely

In a world of choices, we act smart,

We seek control, yet sometimes loose our way,

Overwhelmed by emotions, we loose sight,

Ending up in ignoring the grim reality,

Veiled by our own foolish heart.

The human tendancy is strange and wild,

It seldom makes us looose control

Over ourselves, eventually

Making us choose the wrong option,

Leading us to a path not meant for us.

Even after knowing the cold truth,

That would often ruin us in our near future,

Or certainly make us regret badly,

We still finish up as choosing the desire,

Blinding ourselves with false hopes.

We often choose to comfort ourselves,

By ignoring the warning signs,

For the near short period,

Overlooking the harm it would seemingly cause,

In the far long term duration.

But let us not bound ourselves,

With present captivating momentary pleasures,

Rather just go with the flow, by simply

Trusting the process, calling it our destiny,

For time knows when we need it for real.
