Back In Town (Rafe Cameron)

"Y/N!" Sarah says.

"What!?" I shout from upstairs.

"Are you ready yet? We gotta meet Kie." Sarah says.

"Yeah. Just a sec." I say as I spray my perfume all over my body.

"K. Hurry." she says.

I apply my lip gloss and give myself one last look in the mirror before I walk downstairs.

"Finally. C'mon we gotta go." Sarah says.

"Beauty takes time darling don't you know." I say.

We drive off to go meet Kie.

"Hey guys." Kie says giving me and Sarah a hug.

"Heyyy!" I say.

Us girls go sit down at the table and order drinks. We talk about random things. The pogues, school, boys, etc...

*ring...ring...ring*

Kie picks up her phone.

"Who is it?" Sarah ask.

"JJ." she says.

"Oooooooo." me and Sarah say.

"Shut up. I'll be back." she says.

We give her a nod and she leaves to talk to JJ.

Me and Sarah are talking when I look over and see a guy staring at me.

"You alright?" Sarah ask. Seeing my face expression and vibe change almost instantly.

"No, I'm really uncomfortable." I tell Sarah.

"Why?" Sarah ask.

"Because this guy keeps staring at me." I tell her.

"Who?" Sarah says looking around.

Her eyes land on Rafe over in the corner sipping on his whiskey.

"That's my brother." Sarah says.

"Rafe?! I didn't even realize. He looks so different." I say.

"I guess he's back in town." Sarah says.

"Where did he go again?" I ask her.

"He went to work in Barbados with my dad. They were working on adding another reality office there." she explains.

"Ohhh. Yeah I haven't seen him in what?" I say thinking.

"3 years." Sarah says.

"Wow. It's been so long. I didn't even realize." I say.

I look back over at Rafe and see him smiling at me.

"What even happened between y'all?" Sarah ask.

"I don't even know. We both liked each other and we flirted a lot. Him more than me, but when I was ready for it to turn into something more he bailed. He was ghosting me in a way that I didn't understand. We lost contact with each other and then the next thing I know he's left town." I say.

"Well maybe over these 3 years he's changed. I mean he still clearly remembers you. Maybe you guys could talk and maybe fix what was broken." Sarah tells me.

"Yeah maybe." I say.

Sarah looks over and sees Rafe walking towards you two.

"I just don't know the first thing I would say to him though." I say.

"Well think fast because he's walking this way." she says.

"Hey girls." Rafe says.

"Oh hey Rafe." I say.
