Endless Road

Labor, through each endless day and night,
A journey stretching far beyond my sight.
What drew me to this arduous road I tread?
Exhausting, relentless, filling me with dread.

Breaks are scarce, no respite does appear,
No soothing pause, no end feels near.
A holiday? Oh, how that thought could please!
A brief escape, a moment of ease.

Yet, duty calls, it's time to rise,
Pull up your socks, face the enterprise.
For life demands its toll once more,
In sunshine or rain, it's mine to endure.

Her conscience whispers firmly, insistently right,
"Continue, persevere, uphold the fight."
Alone she stands, in her quest ever true,
Today, now, and forever, she'll see it through.
