This beautiful poem was written by TheSmellOfHome, a reader of 'The Book of Terrus' and tremendously talented poet in her own right. It's a privilege to be able to share her tribute to Vinie and Zaneo here.

You can find 'The The Sea' as well as many of other fantastic pieces of poetry on TheSmellOfHome's profile in her collection 'The Lone Wolf and Me'.

From water we were born,

From water your spirit was made,

From water we were provided food,

From water, a source of child's play.

We pranced along the shoreline,

We returned beached stars to the sea,

We sat upon the rocky shores,

We predicted at what could be.

The Sea carries dhows across sunny days

The Sea breaks them at a start,

The Sea is the giver of gifts,

The Sea can tear things apart...

By the Sea our love was kindled,

By the Sea our love grew strong,

By the Sea our bond was forged,

the Sea was where we belonged.

We had broken the Law of the Land,

The price paid was dear to me

By the window of my cell, I murmur still...

From the sea, of the sea, to the sea
