A recent reader of 'The Book of Terrus' by the name of EnderfireTheAuthor was moved to write this emotional lament after reading the events of Chapter 20. I am very pleased and honoured to be able to share it with you here;
(Set to the tune of 'The Piano' from Dancing Line)
Two lives lost at once,
A mother and her baby,
Unborn child.
One song barely sung,
Another didn't start,
Dead in the wild.
And so I write this song,
The tune is not my own,
I'm sorry, please
Forgive me, but I cry
Too hard to summon
Creativity.
And so I sing this song,
Because they never got
A chance to sing.
For every life's a song,
But some are never wrote,
Never spread their wings.
And so we wave goodbye
To Awenis and
Her newborn child.
Two songs choked at once.
The ending fell too fast,
Claimed by the wild.
