My Special Place

I wrote this at the beach, obviously. It took me about five minutes, but I still like it. Maybe you will too. Vote and Comment? Thanks :]

Warning: It's short but sweet.

My favourite place is by the caves at the beach. It doesn't have pale blue sea and white sand; the sun doesn't shine bright at all. However, it is my special place.

Imagine the cool, salty air—the seagulls squawking by the seafront. It may not be glamorous – far from it – but it is the simplicity of nature that draws me in. The caves with their alluring presence and tall dark walls that cast shadows on the grains of crumbling fossils. The smell of the moss drowns out the salty fish and chips that inhabit the local cafe. It's quiet, though. A good place to look over the sea and reflect on life. It's cold, too. It makes me wrap up in scarves and hats.

The seagulls are pesky creatures that enjoy delving into my own private bubble and annoying me. But it wouldn't be my special place without them.

The simplicity of my private place is the main aspect that allures me; that sits me down and makes me think.
