dear beomgyu,
for the remaining days, we spent a lot of time in your house playing around, playing guitar, singing, and dancing. we were almost inseparable for the whole week. most of the days, i was spending the whole time with you. my mother agreed because she understood that you were about to leave.
on your last day in manila, your father asked what do you want as a gift. i remembered how your face lightened up because of what you heard. you said what you've always wanted– a guitar. you saw one and you immediately went to it and told your dad to buy it and he did. i can still remember how your eyes twinkled and how your face glowed the moment you touched your own guitar. i was happy for you. you even bragged the guitar to me and said that you'll learn it and you'll be a better guitarist than me.
do you remember the snow globe that i gave you before you left?
ever since, i have been so fascinated with snow globes that i have a lot of collections. the one i gave you was my most favorite snow globe in my collection.
"what's this? this is amazing?" you said as you received my small gift and happily shook it for the snow to be seen. i saw how your eyes were so amazed by it. you even said that it was gonna be your favorite thing.
"whenever you are feeling down and tired, or before you go to sleep, shake it and tell yourself that you did a great job. that's what i always do." that was what i told you when you asked what was the purpose of it. you tried shaking it and told yourself that you did a great job. i smiled because of that.
do you remember what you said to me after that, beomgyu?
"i will always remember you whenever i shake this globe. you did a great job." you patted my head and sweetly smiled at me.
