The children sat around the long table with Levin and Cadence next to each other on one side, and Alec opposite to them

Alec messily stuffed his face with large, crumbly bites of bread and eggs

Unlike Cadence and Levin, he was not a royal or a noble thus he did not have the same education and etiquette taught to him

In reality, his status was that of a simple peasant boy, abandoned by his parents and sent to the city orphanage of the Nevean kingdom

His incredible talent in both magic and sword were what got him into the prestigous Silvain Academy

Most of his classmates on the other hand were children of nobles, wealthy businessman and respected figures and officials

There were even a couple royalty and blood relatives of them

In such environment, it was impossible that Alec, the peasant boy with no parents hadn't been looked down upon

Both his teachers and classmates detested him and treated him worse than that of a dog

His natural born talent and skill only fumed their hatred and jealously

But no matter what they did or said, he could not do anything

How could he bear the consequences of becoming an enemy to all these high status, wealthy families?  

What if they did something to the orphanage? And all his many siblings there?

In the end he could only silently endure and take it all

He wanted to quit and leave that hell, but everyone in the orphanage had been so proud of him for enrollimg into that school

How could he disapoint them and let down all their hopes for him?

No matter what, he had to look happy even if he was punched, kicked and spat on everyday

The only one who had not bullied or ignored him, was ironically, the kid with the highest status in the entire school

Levin Van Luxe Romania. The second prince of the mighty Crimson Empire, and one of the heir candidates to the throne

He was the only one who acknowledged him as a human being, classmate and even friend

Levin shielded and defended Alec from all those that tried to trample on him

No one dared to go agaisnt a prince of a powerful and flourishing empire, thus the bullying had mostly stopped

Well rather then stopped it could be said it was just done more sneakily in the shadows

But nonetheless Alec's life had become greatly easier all thanks to Levin

Alec felt an overwhelming gratitude towards his one ane only friend

He secretly made a vow in his heart to one day become the one protecting Levin.

It became his new purpose as he studied and trained to become a great knight with dreams of one day serving the prince

Levin however was unaware of Alec's feelings and only thought of him as a bestfriend
