When I wake up, I'm in a hospital.

A girl with dark hair is in the hospital bed next to me, her face deathly pale, bandages wrapped around her left arm. Somewhere in me, I recognise her, but not in my current state. A bottle of opened pills is on the nightstand between us. There's a window on the wall, where I see a doctor talking to a woman, whose eyes are rimmed with red, as if she's been crying, but is acting unbelievably calm. I want to call out, ask what is happening, but numbness overwhelms my control.

I black out.
