Darkness.

That's the first thing I know when I gain consciousness.

I know I'm awake but I can't see a thing.
I can't move either. In fact, I can't feel anything. The only thing I can do is remember.

It was dark and I was flying but.. I don't exactly know how I was flying. I know I was in the air because I had to be flying in order to end up falling. I remember the lightning, the explosion to my left. Then I was falling, but someone was with me. He was screeching in pain. Then I screamed something before everything went dark.

Wait a second, was that someone a-

Something wet falls on my face, and continues to pour down. Well whatever I was thinking about I completely lost the thought.

I think it's raining. Good at least I can finally feel.
'Cue the hearing,' I think to myself as a roaring sound echoes through my ears, the sound of pouring rain.

Yep it's definitely raining.

I start to feel the water pound down on my body. I turn my head to the side and slowly open my eyes, realizing that they were closed.

That doesn't help me much because I still can't see. I start wiggling my fingers, then my hands, then I move my arms up and down my chest and stomach.

I still can't see.

I bring my hands up to my face to shield it from the icy rain and wince as I touch the right side of my head.

I still can't see.

Maybe it's the dark and the freezing cold rain that won't let me see. Or I probably have a concussion. I move my left leg with ease, hear the thump of my peg leg against the ground, and sigh with relief over not being paralyzed.

I start to move my right leg but a searing pain shoots up my leg and I let out a mangled shout. The pain is unbearable and nausea washes over me in waves.

It's broken, bad. That much I can figure out.

I try to regain my thoughts as the pain gets incredibly worse. I take a deep breath. I need to find shelter. This rain is freezing cold.

I use my left leg and my arms to slowly, painfully drag myself backwards through the muddy dirt. I can feel the mud squish through my fingers and conclude that it has been raining for a while. The rain suddenly stops pouring down on my face, then on my chest, and I keep dragging myself back until there is no more water pouring down on my body.

My head suddenly bumps something and I reach my arms back. I feel the rough texture of tree bark. I found cover under a tree, thank Thor. The pain increases in my leg and I shout in agony. It feels like my leg is being ripped from my body, my eyesight is still gone, and I'm shivering either from the cold, pain, or both.

Another jolt of unbearable pain races up my leg and my mind fogs.

Then there's nothing.
