Thirty minutes later a crazy plan has formed. Patch throws me my black robe and I put it on. He wears one as well and I watch as he goes over to the weapons and grabs the black bow. He straps it around his chest and arms himself with arrows. Patch is going to sneak in to the dungeon and get Astrid out while I run back to the cave and fix Toothless's tail with this thick fabric and thin metal that Patch gathered for me. Our plan is to meet back here.
Then I remembered something and mentally slapped my face.
"Astrid is way too stubborn and smart so she won't trust someone she doesn't know. She won't trust you unless she knows for sure that I know you. Uhh.."
I tell Patch what to tell Astrid when he meets her. He grabs an extra cloak and his sister's lightweight ax for Astrid and next thing I know we share good lucks and I'm sprinting away from the village through the dark.
