"Cause obviously we go back" yes y'all were together for 5 whole years and it's more than just a broken relationship it's Also a friendship "so why would we ruin that"."sayin' things we can't take back" man honestly I think not just Harry but every one in the band said things that have hurt the others far too much, but specifically z&h because it clearly hurt Zayn enough to just go on dating females rather than exploring his sexuality with other men// or even enough to say that he and harry never talked in the bad I think that harry might have said some nasty things when Zayn announced he was leaving the band "in too deep"with gigi and their relationship z&h feels rearranged for the time being "say you feel the same'" reaffirmation.
Now the change in the para from "I'm making you cry" to "I'm watching you cry" I do think he is acknowledging how Harry was hurt when he was in the band to now when he is actually feeling bad for what is going on with them.
Honestly I really think Zayn wrote better after listening to fine line. As far as the significance of the date the song was released on speaks for itself. I think Harry is kinda heartbroken but doesn't want to reconcile yet and same with Zayn at least not until they are ready to come out of identity with their sexualities publicly.
