babysitting!

neil- you had been asked to babysit for your fathers boss, and the money was good so you thought why not? however, they did not specify that no one could come over, and neil went nuts when you told him you were babysitting and insisted on coming along. neil loves kids and has so much fun playing with them, but he never wants to have any of his own in fear of becoming like his dad, so he takes every opportunity to babysit or play with kids. he brought snacks and even bought the babe a toy. of course the child loved him, and even insisted you leave the room so they could play, which stung a little, but watching neil with him was so heartwarming that you forgave him for stealing your spotlight.

todd- despite being SO shy, todd is fantastic with kids, and when you got stuck with baby cousin duty while the rest of your family went out, he didn't mind coming over to keep y'all company. todd doesn't really like talking to adults too much because he feels like theres a certain image he needs to fit, but he is a chatterbox when kids start asking him things like "whats your favourite dinosaur?" and "if you could be a plant what plant would you be?" kids fawn over him and he managed to get your baby cousin to sleep within seconds of singing to her.

charlie- babysitting with charlie is basically just extra babysitting without being paid. you were looking after your nephew and charlie insisted on showing up as "support" but really he just wanted to watch cartoons and have water-balloon fights as well. it really was quite a sight to see your boyfriend and your nephew both sitting cross-legged on the floor in front of the tv, eyes glued to whatever the hell they were watching. they even both said "thank you" in the same monotonous "im busy" voice when you handed them their lunch of peanut butter sandwiches. you didn't mind though, you have always loved charlies child-like attitude.

knox- knox is a bit like charlie, and a bit like todd. he loves children, but he is so up and down with his own energy that it was a nightmare to stay on the same page. when it was time to put your niece down for a nap, he wanted to play monopoly, when it was time for monopoly, he insisted on singing her to sleep. your niece thought he was wonderful, however, and developed a bit of a crush on him, which disturbed him to no end you just thought it was sweet, but he hated it.

pitts- pittsie has no idea what to do with children, so when you were overwhelmed looking after three children and called him begging for help, he was mortified. the ever loyal boyfriend he is, he showed up anyways, clumsily greeting them, and looking to you so much for help when they hid behind your legs. he never really got good at talking to them, but he made a great tree, and sat still enough when the two girls wanted to do his makeup. he adored watching you with them, though, and couldn't help but have baby-fever afterwards.

meeks- meeks doesn't always recognize children as children sometimes, and by that i mean he just sees them as another person to debate, no matter the topic. this was a concern from the beginning when you were helping him with his baby cousins, but it was entirely evident when a heated argument ensued over the best kind of land mammal ended in tears. he apologized to his cousin, in his backhanded "i know im still right" kind of way, but things settled enough from there that he was included in the after-dinner fort and movie time.

(a/n: hey y'all. sorry for not being super active. i have my final exam for science tomorrow and then i am free for the summer. june is always super busy for me because it is my birthday (i got a typewriter!) our herd check, fencing time, and the moving of our therapeutic horses from one farm to another, so i've been a bit overwhelmed. not to mention my brother is leaving to be a camp counsellor and then off to school and my parents have not been handling that well. anyways, i hope you enjoy this chapter. love you all!)
