Tale 19
Wedding Plans

“So you’re getting married in three months?” Primrose

“Yes.” Savannah answered as she drink some tea.

“Congratulations to the two of you.” Primrose

“Isn’t this way too sudden?” Titus

“We’ve been engaged for a long time now.” Indigo

“We wanted to hold the ceremony here but with Indigo’s status, I’m afraid it would cause an uproar in the entire kingdom. A lot of nobilities would want to attend so we can’t have a private wedding here.” Savannah

“With that said, we have to make a lot of preparations for the wedding so we’re planning to return to the capital tomorrow.” Indigo

The four of them are seated on one corner of Primrose’ cafe.

“We wanted to invite you to our wedding.” Savannah

“I’m afraid we have to decline the invitation. The journey will take at least a month. I’m worried for the twins.” Primrose

You’re just too lazy to travel!’ Savannah wanted to complain, but decided to held back her words after thinking that the journey might really be too much of a burden for the children.

“We understand.” Indigo answered

“But we will definitely come here to attend your future wedding.” Savannah

“Ahm.. We’re not in that kind of a relationship...” Titus

Primrose calmly put down her cup of coffee on the table before saying, “We’ll make sure to send you the invitation when we decided on a date.”

Titus’ jaw fell on the floor.

What did he just heard?

Is he hallucinating right now?

“Primrose I—”

“But it might take a while since we’re not in that kind of a relationship yet.” Primrose

Savannah and Indigo gave Titus an encouraging look. ‘We’ve paved the way, now’s your chance!’

“We would like to say goodbye to the twins, so you two can have a conversation of your own for now.” Savannah dragged Indigo away after saying that.

There was a momentary silence between the two. But Primrose decided to break the ice.

"Do you want to marry me?" Primrose is too lazy to beat around the bush.

"O-of course!" Titus

“You don’t have to feel obligated to marry me just because we have children. You are of royal blood, you are meant to be the future ruler of this kingdom.” Primrose said

“I don’t need the crown. I don’t want to sit on that burdensome throne. I want to be where you are. I want to be with you and our kids.” Titus

Titus is being serious right now. He grew up in a cold, luxurious palace where you have to fight your own family for the throne. But compared to that, living as the boss of the bakery next door to his beloved Primrose, this life is so much better.

“I’m giving you the chance to escape now. Because once you decided to stay, I won’t let you run away in the future.” Primrose warned

“Is that a threat? Because it sounds like a proposal.” Titus asked with a beaming smile

“It’s a threat.” Primrose deadpanned.

“It sounds tempting though.” Titus

“It’s because I’m tempting you with a threat.” Primrose

“You succeeded. Then let’s get married now. I don’t think I can wait any longer.” Titus

“Should we?” Primrose

“Hey, hold your horses!” Savannah who just got back and heard their words, butted in.

“Aren’t you two rushing a bit too much?” Savannah

“I think it’s fine.. Titus has been waiting for a long time for this.” Indigo commented

“Marriage is not a joke. You can’t just decide on that on impulse. What if you realize later on that you can’t get along afterall? You can’t just suddenly divorce right? Think of your children!” Savannah

“Then what do you suggest?” Primrose

“Get to know each other first. On a more emotional, personal level. Once you two are sure, then that’s the time for you to get married.” Savannah

“But your marriage with Indigo is sudden too.” Titus

“We’ve been engaged since like forever. We already know and understand each other.” Savannah responded, and Indigo nod his head in agreement.

Savannah is confident, she read the novel [Tea and Roses] so she know almost everything about Indigo. Besides, they spent a lot of time together these past couple of years.

“Savannah’s suggestion sounds about right.” Primrose

Titus pouted. Savannah have a good point, but it ruined his chance to immediately get married to the love of his life.

“If you truly like each other, I’m sure you’ll still end up together. Besides, you already have kids.” Savannah

“For now, we will leave. But we will wait for the good news.” Indigo

The two of them left the cafe after saying goodbye to everyone.

“Will they be alright?” Savannah asked worriedly

“They’re not kids anymore. Don’t worry about them, they’ll be fine.” Indigo responded with a smile.

“I’m just worried because one of them is super lazy while the other is an idiot.” Savannah

Indigo chuckled, “And yet, they already have two adorable children. How about us? How many kids do you want?”

Savannah blushed, “How many do you want?” she asked back.

Days passed by peacefully on the small town.

Talks about the famous Lady Boss of the cafe and the Boss of the new bakery is everyone’s favorite topic in town.

Some says that the two are childhood sweethearts who drifted apart due to some circumstances. Now that they got reunited, sparks reignited in their hearts.

There are also rumours that the Bakery Boss is actually the missing father of the Lady Boss’ children. They say that he is chasing after his runaway wife.

But there are some who says that the LadyBoss is cheating on her husband with the Boss of the new bakery.

No one knows the true story. All they know about is that the two are openly flirting with each other. Even the twins seems to recognized the Boss as their Dad!

Both Titus and Primrose didn’t bother correcting the rumours.

The truth is even more complicated anyway. Who would believe that the previous crown prince threw away the crown just to chase after his first love who is also the mother of his children?

“Nikola shouldn’t you also study? Look at little Claud studying diligently.” Titus who is busy drinking iced coffee asked Nikola who is coloring some books. He is seated with his kids who’s busy studying at the cafe. He heard that there’s an upcoming test for the children to graduate from the kindergarten.

“I already know everything Daddy.” Nikola

“If that’s true, then there’s no reason for us to send you to school anymore.”

“Okay, maybe not everything.” Nikola

“That’s why you need to study. What will you do when your teachers asked you questions that you don’t know?” Titus

“Then I’ll give them answers that they don’t know either.” Nikola responded seriously

“.........” Titus

Titus cleared his throat, “Kids, studying is important because knowledge is power.”

“Knowledge is power?” the twins asked curiously

“If you want to become someone great, knowledge is everything. It’s the whole enchilada.” Titus

“Knowledge is... a lachimolala?” Nikola asked confusedly

“No, a whole.. Nevermind. Forget that part.” Titus

“If I s-study well, can I be a powerful m-mage like Mommy and Daddy?” Niclaud

“Of course.” Titus

“Can I conquer the world?” Nikola

“....... o-of course.” Titus was speechless upon hearing Nikola’s great ambition

“Then Claud and I will be the strongest mages and rule the world!” Nikola declared

“Conquering the world is a bit— oh well, nevermind... Hmm, becoming the next king is easier. Since the two of you have royal blood, overthrowing the king would be doable.” Titus

“B-but a king rules over a kingdom. A-and it’s not easy to run a kingdom. That’s what Mommy said.” Niclaud

“Too much work, I don’t like that.” Nikola

“........” Titus

The twins seems to be lazy too, just like Primrose.

“Then how about joining the Magus Order when you grew up? That’s were the strongest mages gather.” Titus

“T-then why aren’t you there Daddy? A-are you not strong enough?” Niclaud

“..... no, I just didn’t want to join.” Titus

“It’s okay Daddy. We still love you.” Nikola comforted him, and Niclaud nod in agreement.

“.......” Titus was speechless. The twins are definitely thinking that he couldn’t join the Magus Order because he’s not good enough!

“Kids, stop teasing your Dad.” Primrose sat down besides Titus, she held his hand to help regulate both of their temperatures with Mana Exchange.

“Mommy!” the twins greeted excitedly

It’s not peak hours so the cafe is almost empty, Primrose have time to chat with her boys.

“What do you guys want for dinner tonight?”  Primrose

“Anything as long as it’s made by you.” Titus

“I want some sushi!” Nikola

“C-can we have tonkansu for dinner, Mommy?” Niclaud

“You should also make food that you want. Don’t just think about us.” Titus

“Hmm? Something that I want?” Primrose think for a second, then she smiled at Titus.

“W-what is it?” Titus asked bashfully. Primrose stares causes his heart to do a summersault.

“Nothing.” Primrose responded without breaking eye contact

“Stop staring at me like that.” Titus covered his blushing face with his hand.

Primrose smiled while feigning ignorance, “What are you talking about?”

“You... You’re looking at me like you want to make me your dinner instead.” Titus answered while blushing, even his ears are red.

“Well, I can’t deny that.” Primrose

“Mommy, Daddy, what are you talking about?” Nikola

Primrose smiled at the twins, “It’s nothing. I’m just thinking if we should invite your Daddy for a sleepover.”

“Mommy, w-will Daddy stay over tonight?” Niclaud’s eyes brighten

“He will.” Primrose

“Really?” the twins asked Titus with expectant gazes.

“I.... I will.” Titus

“Yey! A sleepover!” Nikola

Titus is speechless.

They are not yet married, but he can already see who's boss.

And it's not him.

But he can't believe that he doesn't hate it.

Is he....

Is he....

Is he actually a masochist?

"........."
