if you asked me five years ago to define the word love, i wouldn't be able to answer. back then, i thought that i would never be loved and i tried to accept it.
and then, four years ago, i met you.
although the journey has been difficult and we've gone through rough patches, we've stuck together, despite everything.
and today, if you ask me what love is, i'd say that love is knowing that no matter what happens, you'll always be with me.
and that i'll always be with you.
love is knowing that you have something special that you don't want to lose.
love is having a person in your life that you want to keep around forever.
love is a steady flame that keeps you both warm, something you can share.
and today, on the anniversary of the day we met four years ago, i just want to say:
i love you, joy.
