" Friends, Please. "

" I'M AFRAID WE ARE IN NO SMALL DANGER. " - Said Edmund, making Susan freeze instantly. Olivia had already caught on with Edmund suspicions after the meeting with the prince earlier in the morning, and as well as she realised a week ago about Rabadash's obsession with Susan, and how they would not leave without the prince getting what he wanted.

" What is it, Ed? " - Asked Susan with wide eyes.

" We won't make it out of here easily. We may have entered as guests, but as soon as you refuse his proposal, we will be no better than prisoners. " - Edmund signed. He hoped he was wrong, and that he simply misunderstood the prince. But when Olivia nodded, confirming she had observed it too, he knew they were doomed.

One of the dwarfs whistled, and the raven croaked lowly: " Oh my Aslan! I warned you! "

" We've been with the prince this morning. He is not used to people telling him 'No' and denying his needs. He pressed us about your answer. Edmund then put it aside, while trying to diminish his hopes. " - Olivia said. - " He started to get angry and furious, he still tried to show courtesy, of course, but his words held a threat. "

" The same with me! " - Exclaimed Tumnus the faun. - " I met with the grand Vizier. He asked me if I liked Tashbaan, and I couldn't be sincere that I hated everything about it. I told him that I liked it and somehow reminded me of Narnia. He returned a smile filled with mischief, and said there was nothing for me to be afraid of dancing here again, provided we left in exchange a bride for their prince. " - Mr Tumnus shivered at the memory.

" Are you saying he would make me his wife by force? " - Asked an exasperated Susan.

" That's our fear, Sue. Wife or slave: which is worse. " - Said Edmund.

" Well, but they aren't very bright. The Tisroc must be mentally disabled if he thinks that Peter would let this situation pass. " - Olivia said wisely.

" I must agree with the queen. " - Said Peridan to Edmund - " Do they think we have no army or swords or spears? "

The room ( which consisted of the two dwarfs, the raven and Peridan ) started murmuring.

" Alas. " - Declared Edmund, making everybody interrupt their talking. - " I believe that the Tisroc has little fear of Narnia. Compared to his empire, Narnia is just a small land. He may want to overthrow Archenland and Narnia both. "

" Well, let's see him try. At sea, they are just as big as us and on land he has the desert to cross. " - Confidently one of the dwarfs said.

" That is true. But we can't rely on the desert like that. Sallowpad, what do you say? " - Asked Olivia.

" I know that desert well. " - Began Sallowpad the Raven. - " and if he tries leading a big army through the desert the man won't succeed, but there is another way. " - Everyone's ears perked up at this. - " It starts with the tombs of the ancient kings and heads northwest, and in a day's riding or a bit more, he will come to the stony valley, which is very narrow. And if he looks down that valley he won't see anything good. But if he rides down it he will go to a river and can pass through the water all the way to Archenland. "
