"I JUST 'WANNA SEE YOU SHINE..."

---

"BECAUSE I KNOW YOU ARE A STARGIRL"

YOU COULDN'T REMEMBER the last time you'd seen the snow fully melted in Jackson, it took you back to the previous summers; parties, drinking, smoking just the usual teenage shit every student looked forward to each year, the teachers, not so much. May 1st, the usual commencement of the 'don't do drugs kids' posters being plastered around indoctrinating institution, seriously, you don't think a lecturer has ever actually asked the students, who pay to attend, opinions. Lucky for you, you'd already secured a dealer for the rest of the year (you hoped), you were still gradually getting through the joints Ellie had kindly secured for you. Unfortunately, Dina was right, she always got smug, complacent when she had predicted a correct result, Ellie was cool, you could see yourself being friends, not wanting to break the dealer - client boundaries though.  However, she was mighty fine but you managed to keep your composure, you didn't like her though, not like that

Snapping out of your daze, you watched the hands on your bedside clock inch closer to the twelve, each second, "tick, tick". favourably, you had a vacancy of classes today, not one, zero, zip, zilch, nada (as Jesse would say). In your opinion, you and Jesse made a pretty good gay - straight duo, 'Jesse and Y/n, supreme detectives' you two would always used to chant in the mirror, back to back, blowing smoke off your imaginary guns. Dina on the other hand, she was unhinged, hilariously unhinged, always making the most downright morbid jokes, causing you to explode with laughter in, normally, the most inappropriate situations. God, was she smart though, straight A's in every subject, she had offers for many prestigious colleges and yet, she still chose to come here, a complexity that you still thought about, whenever you asked she'd always brush it off with a simple: 'all my friends are coming here', you later found out that wasn't the case, Jesse was the one coming here, just his existence persuaded her to come. Together they made a great couple, you couldn't imagine any two people better suited for one another.

Your eyes began to feel heavy as they imposed themselves sealed, not reopening until the mid hours of the morning.

A ping disclosed itself from your phone, startling you as you groggily reached over and grabbed it from it's wireless charging station you'd assigned it.
