aidan

he walks back from the showers into his room to find preston sitting upright in bed, typing away at something on his laptop, a slight shadow of annoyance covering his face. "your phone's been buzzing nonstop, and i'm not the nosy type, but you should really call your mom back."

aidan shrugs and turns his phone off, throwing it on his bed where it disappears somewhere under the sheets.

preston is curious, and not willing to let it go. "is there a reason you didn't tell me it was your birthday? because i could totally go get some drinks from a few of the older kids. you're 20!"

"what's the point in celebrating?" he shakes his head, doesn't say what he wants to say; when the person that you want to care... doesn't?

"get dressed," his roommate throws his things aside and slips on his white vans with a grunt. "you and i are going out to lunch."
