Bereft of feelings like a two-bit whore
What was it that made home so?
You and me and satellite TVChildren crying desperate for food
Something to taste, anything to chew
"What would you give?" I ask of you
"No more than you, no less " you sayYou never hear those children scream
Safe behind that TV screen
You've seen it all, yet still deny
You've seen it all through TV eyesLife starts at eight and ends at five
It's on the news, but you deny
Safe inside your living room
But that's alright, it's just the newsPortsmouth
