Habeas Corpus

Bring forth the body
The body which I buried
Buried underneath the stairs
The stairs that ascend
Ascend to the dusty front porch
The front porch of the creaky old house
An old house that my great grandmother lived in
Lived in very well, until she died
Died long before I killed the overly promiscuous girl.

Bring forth the body
The body of evidence that I murdered her.
I murdered her because she deserved it
Deserved it because she killed my friend
My friend did not deserve it
And vengeance is a bitch best served cold
Or, at least that's what we've been told.

So, bring forth the body - the body of evidence
and prove I committed the crime.
So, I can serve my time.
