At first, Damian Wayne thought nothing of the new transfer student. He didn't associate with her at first, but as time passed, he couldn't help wondering about her. He soon found himself asking her to participate in small tasks with him or group projects.

"Why?" Marinette asked.

"I tolerate you better then the others in class." Damian answered.

Marinette merely smiled and agreed to be paired up.

Damian found himself in unfamiliar territory when he found Marinette surrounded by a group of guys, vying for her attention. Marinette seemed to have noticed his presence and called out his name. She quickly made her way to his side. He glanced over her as she fit in normally with his daily routine. The only thing that confused him was his new desire to physically interact with her; he wasn't the best at physical contact.

Damian decided it was best to look up as to why he was feeling this way around her. He wasn't happy with what he found. All signs pointed to him being in love with her.

'How can I be in love? I've hear all of Greyson's stupid romance atrocities about falling in love. None of this seems right. I'm not delusional or prepared to offer her gifts. She hasn't occupied my-wait.'

Damian came to a startling conclusion: he had been thinking of her. He had a desire to keep her close to him and to keep others at bay. He wanted everyone to know they weren't allowed to have her.

'Fuck. I don't remember falling. I just...found myself right in the middle of it.'

Damian walked up to Marinette the next day.

"Marinette, will you go out with me?" he asked, "I apologize if I am being to forward. I find myself captivated by you. I would like to get to know you more and in a private setting."

Marinette certainly hadn't expected Damian Wayne to ask her out. She had never wanted to push the boundaries of their small budding friendship.

"I wouldn't mind getting to know you more either." Mari smiled.

"Would you prefer a walk in the botanical gardens, over dinner?" Damian questioned, "We could bring out sketchbooks."

"I'd like that very much." she answered, "It's much more private and we can talk better than if we were eating."

"Would Friday after school be a good time for you?" he asked.

"Yes, that is perfect." Mari replied.

Marinette smiled as Damian Wayne walked away.

'I won't say I'm in love....but maybe I'll let myself fall.'
