the art of treating people with kindness

"All I'm saying is that you've never seen me and Beyonce in the same room."

"You've never seen me and Batman in the same room, doesn't mean I'm fucking Batman though, does it?"

"I don't feel like you're understanding what I'm trying to tell you."

"You're not fucking Beyonce, Brayden."

"I wish I was," He grumbled, catching my eye. Only then did I realize the double entendre.

I fake gagged, "Ugh, don't give me that image."

Kady blinked on, confused as Brayden's smirk began to creep up his face. "You'd definitely fuck me even if I was a girl, Kezz, don't lie."

"You're not her type," Kady rolled her eyes, blowing her gum out into a bubble. "But that comment means you're not getting any tonight either."

"Ouch, that's going to hurt. Brayden going a night without getting his dick wet? Never thought I'd see the day." I rebutted teasingly, taking great pleasure in the way Brayden's entire face dropped at his girl's comment.

He seemed to fix his presence almost instantly, eyes lighting up. "Don't worry, Darlin'. If I can't get someone to pump the gas, there's always self-service."

"Ugh, Harper! I didn't need that mental image." My nose scrunched up as Kady whacked him with her bag, seeming just as disgusted as I was. "Was that really necessary?"

"Yes!" He exclaimed dramatically, "When Kades told me that she had a surprise for me, I thought it would've been a new pair of handcuffs for me to break in. Not following you both around shopping and carrying your stuff!"

"Blame Shaylah, she canceled."

"Frankie was an option." He retorted immediately.

"Frankie would've dropped everything and then fell on the floor." Kady deadpanned.

"Well...Yes, but...Oh, fuck you!"

"Not tonight, Sweetie." I said before Kady could, making us both burst out laughing as Brayden turned red. "At least it's done now. No more shopping Mall's for me, thank you very much."

"Yeah, yeah, until next time, Boo." Kady blew me a dramatic kiss before she walked over to the Subway station. I wasn't far away from Dexter's so I had every intention of going to annoy Hendrix before my shift started.

My eyebrow raised when I noticed that Brayden didn't go bouncing over to Kady, "What's going on? Are you banned from her house too?"

"No but-"

The rest of his sentence drowned out when I caught sight of something a few meters away from where we stood. No wonder Harper decided to hesitate. I didn't bother to fight off the grin spreading across my face as I realized she'd already spotted us. Her eyes flickered as I looked her up and down, before lifting my stare to meet hers, grinning.

Oh, this is going to be fun.

Brayden looked at me hesitantly but I shook my head. "Go with Kady. I'm fine."

"It's not you I'm worried about." Brayden muttered under his breath, looking at Kaitlin and back to me again. "Should I phone Nico?"

"No, I'll handle this." I said casually while keeping my eyes on her. She had a few girls standing with her, all of which had noticed me. Brayden let out a small huff, telling me to be careful before he walked back towards the subway where Kady was standing. I watched him stroll away when I felt someone's presence behind me.
