The day came.

The day were we'd pray our respects.

A great man and a member of the Santos lost his life.

That man was Miguel.

The whole town was quite. Everyone mourned the great life that was lost.

His death meant war. War between the Santos and the Prophets.

I stood in the mirror looking at the black dress I wore.

"You ready Alma" Dad asks.

I quickly wipe away my tears and turn to face my dad.

"Yeah dad" I whisper.

He nods and I follow him to the car.

I rest my head on the window watching the rain trickle down.

"Alma if you want to talk-" Dad whisper.

"It's fine" I lie.

I was in no mood to speak. I couldn't help but seen to think this was all my fault.

The rest of the ride was quite. The only sound heard was the rain hitting the windows.

"We're here" Dad whispers.

He exits the car and takes out his umbrella before opening the door for me.

I wrap my hand around his arm as we stand under the umbrella.

We walk into the church and greet the family.

I spot Cesar sat alone on the bench.

"Go Alma" Dad whispers and I nod.

I slowly walk to the bench and take a seat beside Cesar.

"So sorry for your loss" I whisper.

He pulls me into a tight hug.

"I can't believe he's gone" He whispers as I hug him tighter.

We pull apart and he quickly wipes away his tears.

"How are you doing?" He asks.

"Not good either" I whisper resting my head on his shoulder.

"Does your dad know anyt-" He asks.

"Nope not yet. But I promise the minute he finds something out I'll tell you" I whisper.

"Thank you" He whispers.

For the next few minutes we sat there in silence.

"Cesar" A voice cries rushing up to the bench we sat on.

"Monse" Cesar whispers sitting up.

I quickly lift my head off Cesar's shoulder and move to let Monse sit.

"I'll leave you guys alone" I whisper leaving.

As I walk down the aisle to get back to dad I by accidentally bump into Oscar.

"I'm so sorry" I whisper.

"It's fine Alma" Oscar whispers looking at the ground.

Miguel was one of his best friends. It hurt my heart seeing him like this.

"Oscar" I whisper pulling him into a hug.

At first he didn't want to hug but he gave in.

"Alma" A voice calls.

It was my dad.

Me and Oscar quickly pull apart.

"It's time" Dad whispers looking angry  at Oscar.

"I'll see you outside" I whisper and Oscar nods.

As I leave to head outside. Dad grabs my arm stopping me.

"What did I tell you about staying away from him?" Dad whispers.

"It's a funeral. He lost best friend" I answer back.

"He's bad news. Stay the hell away from him" He snaps.

People begin to stare at us as we argue.

"Look we're only here to pay our respects to his family. That is all." He whispers emphasising on the word family.

"Oscar is his family" I whisper pushing his arm off me.

I sigh in frustration and turn to leave.

As I begin to leave the building, dad calls out my name.

"I don't want to to lose you too" He shouts.

I stood there for a few seconds before deciding to ignore what he said.

The rain was now heavier and the clouds were now grey.

"Umbrella unbrella umbrella" I whisper to myself desperately looking for one.

"Here" A voice whispers.

I look up to see I was stood under an umbrella.

"Thanks da-" I whisper turning around to see... Oscar.

"Oscar" I whisper correcting myself.

He holds out an arm for me to hold.

"Thank you" I whisper taking his arm.

We head towards the graveyard.

As we stood around the coffin. Dad shakes his head once he notices I was stood with Oscar.

The priest reads prayers as the coffin lowers down into ground.

Miguel's family and friends throw flowers into the grave.

The funeral ended shortly after.

"Alma let's go" Dad whispers holding his arm out.

I give Oscar a nod before letting go of his arm.

"Bye" I whisper as I take dad's arm.

We quickly rush into the car trying not to get drenched in the rain.

"You hungry?" Dad asks as we enter the car.

I chose to ignore him. I was still angry at him for what he said.

He sigh and begins to drive.

I pull out my phone and check my messages.

Latrelle hadn't replied to me in days. I was starting to think he was avoiding me and I think I know why.

Dad's phone begins ringing.

"Gustavo here" Dad says holding the phone to his ear.

He made sure not to take his eyes off the road.

"I'll be there" Dad says hanging up the call.

Dad pulls up infront of our home.

As I begin to exit the car. I notice dad wasn't leaving.

"You coming dad?" I whisper.

"Team found a lead in Miguel's case. They need me there" Dad sighs.

I nod and exit the car.

I stand in the rain watching as his car drives off before heading inside home.

As I walk inside. A sudden noise causes me to jump.

"Who's here" I shout grabbing anything I could use to defend myself.

I tiptoe in the kitchen to see Latrelle with his hands in the air.

"What the hell are you doing here" I shout pointing the poker at him.

"Alma please" Latrelle whispers.

"No get away from me" I scream.

"Alma let me explain" Latrelle whispers.

Tears begin to roll down my cheek as I shouted at him.

"You can't explain. You killed Miguel" I cry
