I rub my eyes as I sit up on my bed.

Latrelle was still fast asleep.

I look at the time on my phone before realising dad was gonna come in here to wake me up for school.

I rush out my room and meet dad on the stairs.

"You're up early" Dad smiles giving me a high five.

"I slept great" I reply as I head in the bathroom.

I did sleep great considering I only slept for a few hours.

After using the bathroom. I headed back into my room and got ready for school.

Latrelle was still fast asleep.

I leave a kiss on Latrelle lips as he slept and left a note on my night stand.

"Alma come on" Dad shouts as I rush out the room making sure to close the door behind me.

Dad would be at work all day so there was no chance I would get caught.

"You ready for school?" Dad asks motioning me to head into the car.

"Eh I think I forgot my badge upstairs." Dad sighs beginning to go up the stairs.

I remember Latrelle and push dad off the stairs.

"I'll go get it" I smile running up the stairs.

"Oh it's fine. I found my badge" Dad smiles taking it out his pocket.

I wish I could've stayed home with Latrelle but dad wouldn't let me. I'm terrible at pretending to be sick.

After the shirt drive we reach tbe school.

I pull dad in for a hug before exiting the car.

"Have fun princess" Dad laughs and I watch him drive off.

"You too dad" I smile as I watch him drive off.

As I begin walking in the school Cesar joins me.

"Hey girlfriend" Cesar smiles putting his around me.

I give Cesar a smile and turn to see Oscar driving off.

I remember how much fun we had at the diner and then I remember Latrelle's wounds.

Hatred started to build for Oscar and the rest of the santos.

How could they hurt someone like that?

"You okay Alma?" Cesar asks snapping his fingers in my face.

"I'm okay" I jokingly snap pushing away his hands.

The bell rings causing Cesar to jump off.

"I should go" He smiles leaving me alone with Jamal and Cesar.

"Hey guys" I smile.

We all begin walking to first lesson but Jamal stops abruptly.
