Ch. 24 "Family"

                                       Jayden POV 

Me and Elijah were walking through town, Elijah was oddly quiet, I looked up at him and he seemed deep in thought, 

"You know not that I mind a walk with you but I get the feeling this isn't just a walk," I said 

Elijah nodded, 

"I know you are having conflict-ions with your family right now." He said 

"But?" I asked 

He chuckled 

"But I must advise you to at lease try to make amends with them," Elijah said 

I sighed, 

I looked at him, 

"How do you do it Elijah?" I asked 

He looked at me confused

"After everything Nik did to you how could you forgive him? how could you not hold that against him? I know I'm not supposed to but I'm so mad," I said 

"Anger is a powerful emotion Little Dove but you cannot let it consume you," He said tucking some of my hair behind my ear, 

"So what stops you, what keeps you by his side?" I said 

"I'm not judging him I'm just curious," I said 

Elijah chuckled lightly 

"I know little dove," He said 

"But to answer you question, I know Niklaus's actions were questionable, but there is one thing that keeps me honored to him," Elijah said 

"What's that?" I asked 

"He was doing what he thought was right, and above all he's still my family, and family is the ultimate bond," Elijah said 

"And that is why I am telling you this little dove, I don't want you to look back and regret your decisions," Elijah said 

I nodded 

"And that's all I want for you my dove," He said cupping my cheek, 

He kissed my forehead, 

"Come," Elijah said 

I followed after him, 

The next few days I pondered what Elijah told me, but I also didn't want Klaus and the other's feelings hurt either, 

I was sitting on the couch looking down at the book that was in my lap not glaring persay maybe scowling 

"What's wrong little bird," Nik said walking in he sat down next to me his arm stretched on the back of the couch behind my head, 

"What makes you think something is wrong?" I asked 

"Well I have spend an awful lot of time with you little bird, to notice when something is bothering you," He said 

I chuckled 

"Can I ask you something Nik?" I asked 

"Of course our friendship is close enough that you are the only person that isn't family that is allowed to call me Nik and live," He said 

I laughed 

"There's that smile I was looking for so what's eating you?" He asked as he played with my hair with his stretched arm, 

So I explained what I wanted to do, what Elijah talked to me about, 

He sighed 

"Damn Elijah," Klaus mumbled 

"Little bird the truth is, they are your family, sure we will miss you being around here, but I can't keep you here, you are our friend I love you like a sister, and I'm not going to let my vendettas get in the way of that," He said 

I went to say something, 

"And do not worry the others could never be hurt or mad at you for it, they will understand," He said he stood up, 

I hugged him, 

"Thank you.." I said 

"Anytime little bird," He said kissing my cheek and walked out of the room, 

"Just don't be a stranger or I'll hunt you down myself," He said 

"I won't I promise," I said beaming at him, 

He walked out of the room, 

I clicked on my phone looking for my sister's location, 

I sighed typical at the Salvatore's 

After a very long walk I arrived, I walked into the house, 

Stefan, Damon and Elena's backs were to me, and Ric was staring right at me with wide eyes, 

"What?" Damon said 

Ric nodded in my direction they looked at me shocked, I felt my heart going a mile a minute 

"Jayden.." Elena said
