My head hits something hard and I am jolted awake. I observe my surroundings, I am nowhere. There are cold, plastic walls all around me. In front of me are dark, metal bars. Cage. The word spurted from my memory. The family we visited near the woods had a bright yellow bird which they kept in a cage. Except their bird loved its cage. It was always tweeting delightfully. I hate this cage. It's dark and cold. Suddenly the world tilted. I rapidly slide back, my paws making a high pitched scraping sound on the plastic. I hit the wall behind me and feel powerful vibrations through my bones. I yelp in pain. Then I'm tipped again. This time I slide forwards and the metal bars hit my face, pinching my skin painfully. The cage is rocked again and I slide vigorously into the back wall. I try to stand, but my head hits the roof. I howl in pain and receive a massive jiggle from the cage. I become airborne and am thrown around the cage. My head is knocked against the floor or roof, I'm not sure which. I think a bump is already forming above my brow. I begin to see stars and softly whine as I am overwhelmed in darkness.
