My Savior

At Peace or not?

Diana's POV

I got home and went straight to the kitchen to prepare something for dinner before Elijah comes home,

After awhile I heard my phone ringing, I dropped the onion I was about to cut and quickly washed my hands and answered the phone

"hello?" I said,

"hi baby! how are my girls doing?" Elijha said, I realised a breath I didn't know I was holding,

" damn I didn't even look at the caller" he laughed at what I said,

" sorry not sorry, anyway i'm almost home do you need anything? oh and how did it go with the lawyer?" he asked all at once,

" baby first of all I don't need anything I did grocery shopping this morning and I got everything I wanted, then till you get home i'm not telling you anything till you get home" I said laughed,

" babe c'mon i'm curious" he said sighed, I laughed at him beign so silly,

" just come home i'll tell you" I said,

" ok fine see you later" he said and I cut the call,

30 minutes later...

"Honey I'm home!!!" Elijah yelled,

" nah baby don't say it like that sorry it's so cringe when you say it like that" I said laughing,

He rolled his eyes and started removing his uniform,

"Elijah stop being inpatient, go pull upstairs, take a shower, come down and eat, then!!! We'll talk about everything " I said pushing him towards the stairs,

" damn ok fine I'm just curious!" He said dramatically,

I laughed walking away and went back to the kitchen to finish cooking.

everyone was seated at the dinner table, we prayed then started eaten, Lia was already eating before we even started, I looked at her and rolled my eyes at her,

" this child!" I said shaking my head,

" hello!! ma'am i'm waiting for the tea or how you girl's say it" Elijha said, I looked at him in shook trying not laughed at him,

" I- you know what? imma just go ahead and say what happened..."

( she explained what happened, i'm not about to rewrite what happened sorry!)

as he listened to what I was saying he had a big smile on his face,

"So you've got whole company?" He asked enthusiastically,

"Well yeah and I have an idea of what I'll do to the company, I have other properties he gave me then some documents that i need to look through oh and we have a house in Hawaii and one in west Africa, turns out my grandparents immigrated from west Africa to come here, my dad wanted to know his origin and went there, he built a house that I never knew of! Well I'm happy that now i know the truth, at least I know that my father will be at peace now that I found out the true story of their lives " I said with a sad smile, Elijah took my hand and kissed it,

" and now you know that your father was conditioned to do what he did and from what I've heard just now I think your father really loved you, for crying out loud you're his only daughter" he said squeezing my hand in comfort,

"Yeah that's true...I hope it's true" I said,

I got up and took our plates and went to the sink to wash them,

"this is a new beginning for you Diana well our family too" Elijha said coming over and hugging me from behind,

" yeah that's true baby, thank God" I said then kissed him,
