I've decided to chronicle stuff in this chapter because this series has come a long way (and is still coming some way in this platform). This is where you'll see a lot of random stuff that went on whether in this specific book or in the series.

When I first started writing, I have no idea how to make a good cover so along with this part is also a brief overview of how my graphic design skills would go. Haha. You'd be surprised at how noob I am. lol.

So, let's get started!

A little secret reveal: The Secret Race is not the planned title for the fifth book but rather, it's The Hidden Race. Then...my graphic designer instincts kicked in. The word "Hidden" just doesn't look good when compounded with "Race" because of the two D's in the middle making the word too long in terms of space and kerning. So like...I had to make do with a word that would look nice in the new covers so..."Secret" it is. xD This cover also didn't see the light of day and would only forever be plastered in this part. lol.

This is also a picture drawn by Miranda Meeks. This is reminiscent of Denara as there were actually two hidden races in the whole book. hehe. Sneaky, right? xD Well, I kept Denara's blue hair but I reduced it in length but...who cares about details, right? Just know that I still love this text-slapp cover and I love how consistent they are for the whole series ;-;

I have no idea how to represent the Ice Capital in silhouettes so I have to make do with that vague castle to somehow inspire intrigue and whatnot. xD The little person on that cover is actually Marin. xD She gets all the exposure. lol.

Yeah. This story and this book in general have been through a lot. xD I hope you are entertained by this mindless rambling that I did and I hope you move to the other books to follow Xanthy's journey. See you in the next book! :)
