Ch. 39 "Aftermath"

                                                              Jax POV

The first thing I notice is the sounds. walking. heavy boots walking on wood floors.. Rain hitting the rooftop and windows. 

The second was the excruciating headache. 

With my eyes still closed I went to bring my hand to my forehead but both my hands followed. 

I opened my eyes finally seeing my hands were bound. very tightly might I add. 

I looked around seeing I was in Wade's apartment. 

I looked down I was still in my Shadow attire. my ankle's were also bound. 

This surprised me a bit. 

I see Wade walk in from the kitchen. with some Orange Juice 

He looked at me surprised. 

"Jax." He said setting the glass on the nearby table. 

"How do you feel?" He asked sitting next to me. 

"Like I'm getting over the worse hangover of my life..." I mumbled as my voice was raspy from not talking in so long. 

"Here." He said helping me drink some juice. 

I drank it. 

He started untying my hands. 

"Sorry I had to be sure." He said with Worry in his tone. 

"I get it." I said rubbing my wrists 

"I was starting to get worried you've been out for three days." He said untying my ankles 

"Guess that's what happens when you don't sleep for a few months." I mumbled 

I sit on the edge on the couch. tangling my fingers through my hair.

Wade sat next to me. 

"Jax what the hell happened?" He said 

I rubbed my forehead. closing my eyes. 

"It's all a jumbled mess... But I was getting intel trying to find them.." I said 

"The Red room?" He asked 

"Yeah.." I said 

"But what I didn't realize It was a trap.. they were waiting for me.." I mumbled 

"And then everything went wrong so fast." I said closing my eyes trying to rid the headache

It was quiet. 

"I did things Wade.." I said looking at the wall. 

"You and I both know there are certain lines we never cross.." I said 

"Yeah." He said 

"Well I did. And I had know way to stop it." I said 

"Jax. what they made you did was not your fault." He said placing his hand on my shoulder

"Wade. I have done horrible things. How can you even look at me knowing that I have killed people innocent people." I said 

"Because Jax we are friends. and we go back." Wade said 

"How can you look me in the eye knowing the things I have done. why haven't you thrown me to the wolves or Avengers or police." I said 

"Because we are friends. hell we are family. and I'm not giving up on you. Even if you give up on yourself I am still going to be here for you." He said 

I stood up. 

"How! I don't trust myself Wade! How can you possibly trust me! I wouldn't" I said 

"I have always trusted you Jax. and that's Never going to change." He said standing up 

"I-" I said begging to argue. getting overwhelmed 

But Wade Brought me into a Hug. 

"Were going to figure this out. I am going to help you through this. Remember what I said when we first met.." He said 

I nodded 

"We take care of each other.." I mumbled 

He nodded as he had my face buried in his lower chest. 

"And don't you ever forget that.." He mumbled
