"I dont get the big deal. Just talk to Eddie," Lucas explained as he, Dustin, Mike and Adira walked through the school, "get him to move hellfire to another night."

"Just talk to Eddie," Dustin mocked, not being able to believe that Lucas was ditching them, not to mention that fact that he thought they could just talk to Eddie and it wouldn't be a big deal

"Why don't you just talk to your coach and get him to move the game?" Mike also mocked him, clearly not happy about the news either

"Come on guys, youre being rediculous, you cant just change a basketball game because one member has to play D&D, do you understand how much planning goes into setting up a basketball game, not to mention its run by staff, not teenagers," Adira said, backing up Lucas

"You don't have a say in this because youre a jock too, all you do is play soccer and cheer when you are at school," Mike fires back at her

"Oh and don't forget to mention that part where I get better grades than you in every subject," Adira fired back at Mike with a scoff and felt a sense of amusement as she watched his cheeks turn pink in embarrassment

"She's got a point Mike," Dustin said with a grin "But I also think asking your coach to change the date of the game is also a great Idea," Dustin added, making both Adira and Lucas roll their eyes

"Thanks Dustin," Mike said

"this is the championship game!" Lucas explained, trying to get them to see from his point of view but it seemed like the two boys just weren't budging

"And this is the end of Eddie's campaign!" Mike and Lucas fire back. Adira just shoved the boys shoulders softly

"C'mon guys, surely you can just ask him to postpone the game or why don't you just find a replacement? You guys need to understand that things change, Lucas is a little jock and taking after his mother," Adira said with a wide grin as she wrapped her arm around the boys shoulder and wiggled her eyebrows, clearly talking about herself

"Yeah but this is important Adira! This is Eddie's last year and Lucas made a commitment," Mike fired back at her

"Shit happens bro. It is what it is," she replied and shrugged her shoulders

"Its not just 'shit happens'. A semester of adventuring has led to this moment, and we need you." Dustin whined to Lucas

"Yeah and the tigers don't. Youve been on the bench all year," Mike growled at Lucas, becoming more and more annoyed

"C'mon, no need to be a Dick, this could be his chance tonight and you want to risk taking that away?" Adira asked the small children, confused as to why they were acting this way

"Yeah, and that's not the point," Lucas complained to Mike, getting tired of the conversation

"Well please, arrive at the point." Dustin says with a long sigh

"If I get in good with these guys, I'll be in the popular crowd, and then you guys will be too," Lucas tried to reason with his friends

"Am I not popular for you enough Mr Sinclair?" Adira asked him in mock hurt but they ignored her as Mike began to talk over her

"Has it ever occurred to you that we don't want to be popular?" Mike asked lucas as Lucas began to walk into his class

"So you want to be stuck with the nerds and freaks for three more years? The only reason we don't get bullied that much anymore is because Adira is our friend, shes gone next year and wont be able to protect us!" Lucas exclaimed

"We are nerds and freaks!" Dustin exclaimed back

"Oh my god, this is insanse. Just talk to Eddie, I'm sure he'll understand," Adira tried to tell Mike and Dustin, but still, neither of them were having it, "you guys arent freaks okay? And who cares that youre nerds?"

"youre only saying that because you are the ONLY geeky jock," Mike said to her, "You've got one foot in the golden life and one foot in the gutter."

"Yeah well if you don't watch your mouth, I'll have one foot in your bloody face," she groaned out in annoyance before turning to look at Lucas with a grin, "and besides, I'm not the only one anymore," she said and gestured over to Lucas

"look, I'm tired of being bullied. Im tired of girls laughing at us. I'm tired of feeling like a loser. We came to high-school wanting to be different. Right?" Lucas asked them and Mike and Dustin both nodded their heads softly, remembering that they had said that too, "so now we have that chance. I skip tonight, that's all out the window. So I am asking you guys, as a friend. Just talk to Eddie, get him to move hellfire. Come to my game. Please."

The bell rang and lucas gave them one last look before turning around and walking into his class.

"well that went well," Adira said sarcastically

"Shit." Dustin cursed and they all made their ways to their next class.

-----------------

Adira walked into her English class, thanks to her talk with Mike, Lucas and Dustin, she was late. The teacher looked over to the short brunette with a scowl on her face, "I see that you are still taking after your brother and arriving late Miss Harrington," the teacher scowled

"Sorry ma'am," Adira muttered as she rolled her eyes and looked around the classroom for a seat. Her usually seat next to Chrissy was taken by her stupid egg head boyfriend and there were only three empty seats left.

The first seat was in the front row, so that was defienietly a no-no.

The second seat was in the middle on the side of the class next to one of the boys on the basketball team who was practically undressing her with his eyes where she stood, Andrew Crawford, one of the many school players. Yeah that was a no-no.

And finally, at the back next to Eddie Munson who was scribbling something on the desk. She nodded her head softly before walking purposefully walking past Andrews desk to get him excited and then disappointed before sitting down next to Eddie.

People around the class stared in shock, what was Adira Harrignton, star cheer leader and soccer player, doing sitting next to Eddie Munson, the freak who played fantasy games and almost failed every single class.

Chrissy looked at her friend with sympathy, apologising for the fact that Jasn had taken her place but Adira just sent her a small smile, letting her know that it was okay. She leaned back in her chair and noticed the look that Eddie was giving her.

"Watcha doing?" he asked her a cheeky grin on his face as he looked at the girl, "Jesus must be standing next to me today if I get the honour to talk to the Adira Harrington twice in one day," he said to her in a joking tone

"He must be," she replied jokingly. A small chuckle fell from his lips as he leaned back in his chair. Adira looked over at the desk and noticed that there were a bunch of ink drawings etched deep into the wood of the desk, people had obviously been drawing on it for years. She looked at the most recent looking one and it seemed to be a elf, the elf had long wavy hair, was short and for some reason had a skateboard tucked up under her arm

"I don't think there are skateboards in D&D," the girl muttered to him with a confused look. Eddie's eyes opened slightly as he pushed his book over to cover the drawing. This made the girls eyes widen quickly as she turned to look at him, "shit I'm sorry, I didnt mean it like that... its a great drawing I just meant th-" she was quick to apologise, thinking that she had upset the boy and that definitely wasn't her intention

Eddie noticed that about her, she liked to apologise a lot, "It's okay - its you," he tried to explain to her, an awkward and anxious tone leaving his lips as he avoided eye contact with her

"Excuse me?" she asked in confusion, not understanding what he was talking about

"Its you. I drew you as a moon elf... that's why there is a skateboard," he tried to explain to her. Her mouth dropped slightly and her eyebrows furrowed. "I mean its just because of our encounter this morning ya know, I can scratch it off if you want -" he quickly stuttered out, thinking that the girl was going to get mad at him or make fun of him

"I like it, nobody has ever drawn me before," she muttered out and leaned over to get a better look at the drawing. It was a really good drawing, he had talent.
