Adira, Eddie, Steve, Lucas and Dustin all silently sat on the couch, staring over at Max, wondering what she was doing. All the boys were on high alert, ready to jump into action as soon as something bad began to happen to Adira or Max.

Adira was currently squished between Lucas and Eddie. Eddie had been able to throw his arm over the back of the couch where the girl was sitting without Steve noticing from the other side of the couch. Every minute he inched a little closer and closer until his leg was resting comfortably against her own.

She gave him a small sad smile, great full that he was trying to comfort her, she really needed all the comfort she could get at the moment. The dark bags under her eyes has only grown and become darker, her normal my rosy cheeks had gone a ghostly white, she hadn't even been captured by Vecna yet and she already looked dead.

She hadn't slept in day. Eddie nudged her arm softly, she turned to look at him with a small confused look, her eyebrows furrowing and forehead wrinkling. He gave a small nod and gestured to his shoulder. She hesitated before allowing her head to fall to the side slightly and lean against his shoulder.

She was scared to fall asleep, but the warmth radiating off the boys body and the familiar scene of cigarettes from the boys jacket made her feel safe and giddy on the inside. Her eyes shut softly, but she forced herself to stay awake. No matter how safe she felt, not even Eddie could keep her safe in her nightmares

He peered down at her face, it finally looked relaxed, he wasn't sure if she had fallen asleep yet or not, but he was praying that she would at least keep her eyes shut for a few minutes so he could admire her without her opening her eyes and seeing him and his awe filled eyes gazing delicately down at her

Whilst Adira and Eddie were off in their own little world, the others were still staring over at Maxine who still hadn't said anything to them even though it was clear that they were all waiting for her to make some kind of communication with them and let them know what was going on

Max let out a long sigh and then turned to look at the teens on the couch over her shoulder, "I can feel all of you staring at me." She knew that they had been staring at her for the last 30 minutes or so and she had just brushed them off until now. It was beginning to get extremely annoying and uncomfortable under all of their gazes, not to mention that it was practically a reminder that there was some stupid monster out there trying to kill her.

They all quickly picked up articles or books and pretended to be minding their own business, cleaning their throats and letting our awkward coughs. They were now looking at anything except for Max. Adira had opened her eyes now and was finding the situation rather amusing, she couldn't help but shake her head at how stupid the boys were

"You said you needed something?" Lucas asked, trying to make them look less suspicious and more like they had just thought she had said something and they were just waiting for her to elaborated

"Staring what? No, of course not," Eddie muttered out with an awkward laugh

"Just hanging out," Steve muttered causally and began to throw a back up into the air and then catch it

"I thought I saw a bee," Adira muttered with a small shrug, she knew that there was nothing they were going to be able to do that would get them out of the situation, they got caught.

"How you seem to think that boring your eyes into the back of my head is protecting me from Vecna, I don't know," she grabbed her letters off the table and then stood up, walking over to the teens on the couch with a tired look on her face. Adira gave her a small smile whist the boys all stuck to pretending that they hadn't been looking

Max and Adira rolled their eyes at them, "you guys can look at me now," Max told them with a small scoff as she stood before them. They let out sighs of relief and looked back over at Max, her shakes hands were full of yellow envelopes
